The Next Periodical Investigation and Division of Profits takes place as at 31st December,
1 859, and all Participating Policies effected during the current year -will then rank as Assurances of Two
Tears' Standing.
The Profits are allocated amongst the members in pfoportion to the sums insured and the endurance
of the Policies, and may either be allowed to remain as an addition to the original Assurance; or, if there
is no legal obstacle in the way, they may be surrendered to the Society for their immediate Cash value,
or they may be applied towards reduction of the future premiums.
On all Participating Policies which may become claims during the current year,- and after payment of
the premium, the following additions, by way of Bonus would be paid: —
To a Policy opened in any of the years from 1815 to 1819 inclusive, a Bonus of £1244. 6s. lid.,
in addition to each £1000 insured.
To a Policy opened in the year 1830, a Bonus of £660. 6s. 8d., in addition to each £1000 insured.
To a Policy opened in the year 1840, a Bonus of £389. Os. Id., in addition to each £1000 insured.
To a Policy opened in the year 1850, a Bonus of £163. Os. 3d., in addition to each £1000 insured.
Practical examples of the application of the Profits, with Forms of Proposal and all necessary infor-
mation regarding the Society, may be had at the Head Office, 5 St. Andrew Square, Edinburgh;
or at any of the Agencies throughout the Kingdom.
