FiRE INSURANCE.
THIS Company insures against Loss or Damage by Fire, all Description of
Buildings, including Mills and Manufactories, and the Goods, Wares, and
Merchandise in the same; Ships in Harbour or in Dock, at the lowest rates of Pre-
mium corresponding to the risk.
Farm Stock and Crop insured, in cumulo, on one farm, without the Average
Clause. Loss and Damage by lightning made good.
Losses Settled with Promptitude and Liberality.
LIFE ASSURANCE.
The system adopted by this Corporation combines the principle of mutual As-
surance with the security of a large Capital, and the support of an influential body
of Proprietors.
The Premiums are modei'ately rated at every age, and may be paid either in one
sum, or by yearly, half-yearly, or quarterly instalments, so adjusted as to suit the
convenience of parties.
The WHOLE PROFITS are divided amongst the ASSURED, after resereing
One-Fifth against the risk of extraordinary mortality, or other contingencies, each
Policy drawing in proportion to the sum insured and number of Premiums paid.
Although the business of the Company was not extended to Life Assurance until
1823, the accumulated fund from Life Premiums, at 3lst December last, without
amalgamating with any other Company, amounted to £523,568, Is. 6d,, and the
Annual Revenue was £104,984, 10s, 8d., and continues rapidly to increase.
No Entrance-money or other charge is made, excepting the Stamp for the
Policy.
