The last Bonus (1862), besides reserving a Sum to accumulate towards the next division,
averaged from 45 to 88 per cent., between the ages of 25 and 50, on the respective amounts
of Premiums paid.
Thus, for example, a Policy effected at the age of 25, for £1000, in 1856, and upon
which Premiums in 1862 bad been paid to the amount of £159, 16s. 8d., had a Bonus
declared of £140, or only £19, 16s. 8d. less than the amount of the whole Premiums paid.
