BONUS ADDITIONS applied in accordance with the wishes of the Assm-ed : Thus, a Policy
for £2000 opened in 1840 on a life then aged 35, at an Annual Premium of £56, 10s., on which the
Vested Bonus Additions at Christmas 1865 amounted to £850, may remain on the books as an
Assurance of £2850 ; or it may be discharged of all Premiums for the next Five Years on a surrender
of £472 of the Bonus, leaving the Sum Assured £2378 ; or the whole Bonus may be either applied in
Keduction of the Annual Premium for the PiEjiaixder of Life from £56, 10s. to £14, or converted
into an Immediate Cash Payment of £447, 13s. 4d. ; the Policy remaining entitled to future Bonus
Additions at each recurring period of Division.
During 1866, the Association issued 631 New Policies, assuring £446,960. and producing in New
Premiums £14,372. The total number of Life Policies issued exceeds Ten Thousand.
FIFTH QUINQUENNIAL INVESTIGATION at Christmas 1870, when Policies effected
DURING 1867, under full Annual Premiums, will be entitled to Four Years' Bonus Additions.
