THE Corporation grant Drafts, and negotiate or collect Bills payable at the above places,
on Terms which may be ascertained at their Office ; they also issue Circular Notes and
Letters of Credit for the use of Travellers by the Overland Route.
They undertake the Agency of Parties connected with India and the Colonies, make
investments in the Pubhc Funds, and other British and Foreign Securities, and receive Pay,
Pension, Dividends, and Interests, for constituents.
They also receive Deposits of £10 and upwards for fixed periods, as follows : Repayable
after six months' notice of withdrawal, 4 per cent, per annum ; after twelve months' notice,
5 per cent, per annum.
Applications for the sanction of the Directors to Credits established in favour of parties
abroad, must be sent in not less than three days before despatch of the Mail, otherwise they
will be deferred until the Mail following. Bills for Collection in India and tije Colonies,
and other transactions involving correspondence by the Overland Mail, also applications for
Drafts, are required to be sent in one clear day before the day of despatch.
They undertake the safe custody of Indian and Colonial Government Paper, Shares in
the Capital Stock of the Government Banks, and other Local Stocks, and draw Interest and
Dividends on the same as they fall due.
They also make the necessary Registry of Indian Government Loan Notes, so as to
obtain payment of the Interest in England.
