LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY,
FOR INSURANCE ON LIVES, AND GRANTING
ANNUITIES.
This Office was established in Lombard Street, London , in
:ie year 1797? by a numerous and respectable Proprietary ;
ad the Board of Directors, with confidence, arising from the
lcreased prosperity and permanency of the establishment, as
ell as from the experience of its usefulness and benefit to the
ublic, think it due to those who may be still unacquainted
ith the importance and advantages of Life Insurance,
riefly to suggest some of its leading and peculiar recommen-
ations to almost every degree and rank in society : — Life in-
urance is of manifest consequence to all who hold estates for
fe, situations and offices, civil, ecclesiastical, or professional ;
) officers in the army and navy, &c, as, by payment of ah
nnual premium, the party insured is enabled to provide for
•ife, children, or others, whose future welfare he may wish,
l.vain, by other means to promote. It affords a permanent
ltimate security to those who advance money upon annuities
r otherwise. It renders leases, determinable on one or more
ves, nearly equal in value to freehold estates, as an insurance
) the amount of the fine, payable on the demise of a party
ominated in such leases, will produce the sum required for
mewal. It is a cheering refuge to parties engaged in exten-
ve and speculative undertakings ; it affords to persons in
ade the certain means of indemnification against a bad or
oubtful debt ; in short, life insurance, established in policy,
mctioned by Government, and confirmed by the test of ex-
erience, is become, to almost every situation of human life,
measure equally important, useful, and beneficial. Annui-
es are granted upon the most equitable terms, under a spe-
ial act of Parliament granted to this office.
