A Statement of the Company's liabilities under its Life Policies, and a detailed Account of the
Investments constituting the Reserve Fund, as at the 31st December 1867 (the close of the last Quin-
quennial period), may be had on appplication.
PROGRESS OF THE COMPANY.
The progress of the Company is displayed in the following Comparative Statement of New Life
Business and Life Premiums for the last two Quinquennial Periods : —
LIFE DEPARTMENT.— Four-Fifths of the Profits are divisible amongst Assurers on the
Participating Table.
Assurances are effected on Participating and Non-Participating Tables, on Ascending and Descend-
ing Scales, for Short Periods, and by Policies payable at the ages of 65, 60, 55, or 50, or previously in
the event of death.
In the case of an Assurance for the Whole of Life, £250 and upwards, half of the Premiums for
five years, or one-third of the Premiums for the Whole of Life, may remain as a debt on the Policy.
FIRE DEPARTMENT.— Policies are granted on almost every description of Property, on liberal
terms. No expense is attendant on Transfers of Policies from other Offices. Losses are paid imme-
diately on proof. Losses by Explosion of Gas are made good by the Company.
LOAN DEPARTMENT.— Loans from £50 to £1000, on personal security, with Life Assurance,
repavable by instalments.
