Chief Office for Scotland— 31 Princes Street, Edinburgh.
PROMINENT FEATURES.
I. THE TOTAL EEPEA.L OF THE DUTY upon Fire Insurance will now enable Insurers to
double their protection on first-class risks without any increase of payment.
II. The Rates of this Society are the same as charged by other Offices, whilst Two-Fifths of
the Profits are returned to the Insured every Three or Five Years. In proof of the
public confidence in the principles and conduct of this Establishment, it will suffice to
state that the total business now exceeds £95,000,000.
III. Moderate Premiums. — The Rates of Premium being in no case higher than those charged
by other principal Companies making no return of Profits, the advantage secured by
the Insured in this Office is obvious.
IV. Claims settled with Promptitude and Liberality. — Losses arising from Lightning, or by
Explosion from Gas, made good.
V. Special Risks. — Specifications for Insurances on Breweries, Distilleries, Foundries,
and Manufactories, prepared by the Society's Surveyor when required, free of expense,
and the Rates of Premium carefully adjusted according to the merits of the Risk.
