LIFE SOCIETY.
INSTITUTED AT NORWICH, 1808.
ACCUMULATED CAPITAL, UPWARDS OF L.1,700,000.
THE NORWICH UNION LIFE INSURANCE SOCIETY presents to the Public
the following important features, viz: —
First, In point of BUSINESS, it ranks above every other Life Insurance Office, except the
Equitable Society of London; the number of its MEMBERS BEING UPWARDS OF
SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED.
Second, As a consequence, the advantage arising from an average decrement of life, so
essential to the prosperity of a Life Insurance Office, is thereby attained.
Third, The SECURITY presented to its Members— arising from an ACCUMULATED
FUND OF ONE MILLION SEVEN HUNDRED THOUSAND POUNDS, in addi-
lion to an ANNUAL INCOME of L. 190,000 from Premiums alone.
Fourth, The distribution of the whole Profits among the parties insured, and which have
already amounted to FOUR HUNDRED AND FORTY-FIVE THOUSAND SEVEN
HUNDRED AND NINETY-EIGHT POUNDS.
Fifth, The Rates of Premium for Young Lives are lower than those of other Mutual
Assurance Offices, and which, in such cases, are conseq'uently equivalent to an ANNUAL
BONUS.
The POLICIES now issuing by the Society are in the proportion of SEVEN HUN-
DRED ANNUALLY.
IMPORTANT ADDITIONS maybe confidently anticipated to the Sums insured at the
Periodical Division in 1843, in which additions persons who now take out Policies will par-
ticipate.
NO ENTRANCE-MONEY of any description is demanded.
The Society grants LOANS on approved Security, Heritable or Personal, in connexion
with Assurances; and upon Policies oi acquired vaXue liberal ADVANCES are made.
TABLES of the Society's RATES for INSURANCE and ANNUITIES may be had
gratis on application at the Office.
FIRE SOCIETY,
INSTITUTED AT NORWICH, 1797.
This SOCIETY is the only one in Scotland that returns to the Policy- Holders, EVERY
THREE YEARS, a Dividend out of the Surplus Profits.
In proof of public confidence in the principles and conduct of this Establishment, it may
be sufficient to state, that its total BUSINESS now extends to a sum exceeding FIFTY-
FIVE MILLIONS STERLING.
By the last Triennial Division of the Society's Profits, TWENTY-ONE THOUSAND
POtFNDS were set apart to the POLICY-HOLDERS, and the present prosperous state of
the Society leaves no doubt that the next Return will greatly exceed any that has heretofore
