Scottish Widovjs' Fund Life Assurance Society — continued.
IN addition to the advantages hitherto offered by this Institution, the Directors have recsutly
obtained the sanction of the General Court of JMembers to the adoption of one or two new
points of practice, which they trust will be found conducive to the general interests of the Society.
In particular, it may be stated that, under the powers now held by them, they are authorised,
1st, To grant (under certain conditions and provisions) Certificates declaring Policies un-
challengeable on any ground whatever, except the non-payment of Premium.
2d, To allow the Vested Bonus Additions attaching to Policies to be applied towards
Reduction either of the whole Future Premiums under the same, or of such Premiums
only as may be payable previous to the next succeeding period of Investigation — tho
temporary relief in the latter case being of course, in most instances, to a much larger
extent.
3d, To issue Policiea free of charge for stamp duty.
A Copy of the Report of the last Annual Meeting may be obtained on application at the
Society's f >ffice, or at any of the Agencies.
The extent of Bonus Additions declared to the Society's Policies may be exemplified by the
following Table of one or two cases of emerged Risks.
