EXCHANGE, HAMBURGH; ani.
20, NORTH NELSON STREET, EDINBURGH,
(Instituted in the Reign of Queen Anne, 1714),
FOR FIRE, LIVES, AND ANNUITIES.
LIFE DEPARTMENT.
^W^HIS Company efl'ect Life Insurances on ec|uitable principles, with entire exemption from the Ha.
-■• bility of Partnership.
A large Capital, subscribed by the Proprietors, forms the security of the Assured.
The Premiums may be all paid at once, or in any given number of years, in the option of the parlji
making the Insurance; a plan, the advantages of whioh are strikingly obvious, as it affords an oppor-
tunity of securing a certain provision, independent of all after risks from failure in paying the Premium,
or of paying a larger Premium, while the means of doing so may be more at command : or the Pre-
miums may be paid quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly, as may suit the convenience of those holding the
Policies.
Each Policy for Life is entitled to share the sm'plus profits, which are declared every seven yeai's.
All transactions in the Life Department are considered strictly confidential.
Prompt Payment of Claims is made Three Months after proof of Death.
The following rates of Insurance for single Lives are given as specimens from the Tables. The
rates for One and Seven years, and for the whole period of Life without Profits, will, it is believed,
be found, on comparison, very advantageous to the Public, while insurances for the whole period of
Life are equally so, if the benefit to be ultimately derived from a participation of the Profits is takeiv
into account.
FIRE DEPARTMENT.
Insurances of every description of Property effected at the usual rates, corresponding to the risk.
The practice of this Company has been, for upwards of a century, to return the jn-ofits on Policies
effected for Seven years. Only Six years' premium and duty ai'e charged, and the Government duty
may be paid annually, or in one payment.
The stability and character of the London Union Society have been satisfactorily i)roved by the
teU of upwards of a century, during which long period claims have been invariably discharged with
promptness and liberality.
