OB LOANS, IN OASES OF SPECIAL DISTBESS, TO OFFIOEBS, WHETHEB DISABLED
OR NOT, AND THEIB WIDOWS AND DEPENDANTS.
All houses, flats and fandB are neoeaaarily reserved for those whose means
make it impossible for them to provide decent homes for themselves and their
families, without such assistance as the Association is able to give. In the consideration
of applications, special regard is had to the extent to which the applicant's income
has been reduced as a direct result of War Service, and preference is always given
to those with young families.
The Secretary, will be pleased to give further information to those interested,
whether as supporters or as prospective beneficiaries, on application, by letter or
personally, at the office of the Association —

The Asylum comprises twelve houses for Widows and Orphan Daughters of
Naval Officers, of the rank of ** Commander," "Lieutenant," " Navigating Officer," and
"Paymaster." Each house is endowed with an annuity of £33. Ladies are elected
by the Governors, as vacancies occur. They must be out of the state of wedlock
at time of admission, and if admitted as daughters they must be 40 years of age at
least. They must be members of the Church of England.

BURSARIES FOR SONS OF OFFICERS.
Three bursaries are awarded annually, limited to sons of serving or retir«d Offiecrs in
His Majesty's Regular Forces. Full fees are 150 guineas a year.
The reduced fees are —
(«) 75 guineas a year.
{b) 90 guineas a year.
There is no written examination other than the common entrance, which candidates
oan sit at preparatory schools. An interview is necessary. The Goremors also take inte
account any report made on the boy by his present headmaster or tutor, and the financial
Miition ef the parents. Candidates for admission must be under 14 years of age.
