1 Sir James Watson served with the 14th Regt. on the Continent under the Duke of York in 17U3 andl!4 ;
at the reduction of the islands of St. Lucie and Trinidad in 1796 and 97. Commanded the 14th regiment at
the capture of the Isles of France and Java, including the assault and capture of Djocjocf.rta ; commanded
the expedition that captured the piratical state of Sambas in Borneo in 1813; at the capture of the fort
of Hattras. and in the Pindarree and Mahratta wars; actively assisted at the reduction of tho fortress of Dho-
mone Mundela (where he led the storming party), GurraKotah, and Asseerghur. Medal lor Java.
2 Lt.-Col. Watsou served at the siege and storming of Bhurtpore in J825-0 (Medal).
7 Capt. Strode served with the 61st Regt. in the Punjaub campaign ot 1849; present at the battle of Goo-
jerat, and with the field force in pursuit of the enemy to the Kin her Puss (Medal and one Clasp). Ex¬
pedition into the Kusufzie country, in at ion with tho enemy 11th and 14th Dec. 1849, and present at
the capture and destruction of the insurgent villages of Saggow, Pulleo, Zoormundie, and Sheerkanee,
on those days. Served with the expedition against the Afriedic* n1 *,1:0 Koliat. Pass in l eb. 1850.
7 Capt. Cox served in the 13th Light Infantry the campaigns of 1840, 41, and 42 in Afghanistan, and \» as
present at the assault and capture of the town and fort of Tootumdurrah, storm of Jhoolghur, night attack
of Baboo Koosh Ghur, attack on Khardurrah, storming the Khoord Cabool Pass, affair of Tezeen, forcing
the Jugdulluck Pass, reduction of tho Fort of Mamoo Khail, heroic defence of Jollalabad and sorties on
the 14th Nov. and 1st Dec. 1841, and 11th March, *24th March and 1st April 1842 ; the general action with
and defeat of the besieging force under Akbar Khan before Jellalabad on the 7th April; the storming
of the Jugdulluck heights, general action at Tezeen, and recapture of Cubool, for which he has a Medal
as also another for Jellalubad. e
