y As-i Mar. 04 the Sril Light Dragoons through¬
out the campaign of 1842 in Afghanistan (Medal),
and was present at the forcing of the Khyber
Pass, capture of Mamoo Khail, storming the heights
of Jugdulluck, actions of Tezeen and Huft Kotul.and
occupation of Cabool. He was present as Aide-de-
camp to Sir Joseph Thackwell in the action of Ma-
harajpore on the 29th Dec. 1843 (Medal). He also
served the Sutlej campaign of 1845-6, including the
battles ofMoodkee, Ferozeshah (charger killed),and
Sobraon: Medal and two Clasps. Towards the close
of the Sutlej campaign he officiated as Depnty-As-
sistant Qr.-Master-General of the Cavalry Division.

6 Lieut. John Percy Smith serred
the campaign in Afghanistan under
Lord Keane, with the 16th Lancers,
and was present at the siege and
capture of Ghuznee (Medal).
7 Lieut. Drummond served as a
volunteer the Gwalior campaign in
1843-4, and was present in the action
of Maharajpore (Medal).

1 Lord Beauchamp served in the Peninsula with the 16th Dragoons, from March 1809 to Sept. 1810, and again from Feb.
1814 to the end of that war, including the capture of Oporto, battle of Talavera, and passage of the Coa. Severely wounded
in the neck, 28th Aug. 1810, in Massena’S advance to the battle of Busaco. He has received the War Medal with one
clasp for Talavera.
3 Captain Bowles served throughout the campaign of 1842 in Affghanistan (medal) in the 3rd Light
Dragoons, and was present at the forcing of the Khyber Pass, storming the heights of Jugdulluck, action at
Tezeen and Huft Kotul, occupation of Cabool, and capture of Islatift’. He served also ia the Sutlej cam¬
paign of 1846, and was present at the battle of Sobraon (Medal). ,
