Madrid and the Retiro, battle of Vittoria, blockade of Pampeluna. the battles in the Pyrenees on
the 27th, 28th, and 30th July, battles of the Nivelle, the Ntve, and Orthes, actions of Vic Bigorre
and Tarbes, and battle of Toulouse.
126 Major Jauncey served on the expedition to Walcheren in 1809. Subsequently in the
Peninsula from July 1812 to June 1814, including the battle of Castalla, siege of Tarragona, re¬
treat from thence, its second siege, retreat from Villa Franca after the battle of the Pass or Ordall,
and investment of Barcelona in 1814. Expedition to Naples in 1815.
127 Major Nokes served in the Peninsula from May 1809 to Feb. 1814, including the battles of
Talavera, Fuentes d’Onor,Salamanca, Vittoria, the Pyrenees, and Nive, from 9th to 13th Dec.;
sieges of Ciudad Rodrigo and Burgos. Present at the battle of Harriapore, in the Nepaul country,
128 Major Gordon served at the battle of Trafalgar.
129 Major Pascoe served in the Peninsula and France from Aug. 1809 to Feb. 1814, including
the battles of Salamanca, Vittoria. Nivelle, and Nive, passage of the Bidassoa, and other opera¬
tions; sieges of Badajoz (first siege), Forts of Salamanca, Burgos, and San Sebastian. Army of
Occupation from 1815 to 1818.
130 Major Bridges served at Walcheren in 1809, and in the Peninsula and France from July
1811 to Aug. 1814, including the siege of Cadiz, in 1811 ; battles of Vittoria and the Pyrenees ;
passage of Bidassoa, Nivelle, Nive, and Adour; and the opeiatiens before Bayonne. Attached to
the Prussian corps d’armee in 1315, under the command of Prince Augustus of Prussia, and
employed in the reduction of Philippeville, Marienbourg and Rocroy. Adjutant to the Royal Ar¬
tillery, serving with the force employed in Portugal in 1826; and Btigade-Major to the Royal
Artillery in the Canadas, in 1838.
131 Major Fraser served in the Peninsula with the 53d from Aug. 1811 to the end of that war
in 1814, including the siege and capture of the fortified convents at Salamanca, battle of Salamanca,
siege of the castle of Burgos, battles of Vittoria, the Pyrenees, the Nivelle, and Toulouse. Severely
wounded at Pampeluna on the 26th July, 1813.
132 Major Ainsworth served at the siege of Flushing, in 1809, and subsequently in the Penin¬
sula, including the battle of Fuentes d’Onor, and 2d siege of Badajoz, and battle of Nivelle.
Served also the campaign of 1815, and was present at the battle of Waterloo.
133 Major Codd served with the 48th, in the operations against the Rajah of Coorg in 1834.
133 Major Canch served on the expedition to Hanover in 1805-6 ; in the Peninsula with the 5th
from Aug. 1808 to Dec. 1812, and again from Oct. 1813 to the end of that war in 1814, including
the battles of Roleia, Vimiera, Talavera, and Busaco ; retreat to the lines of Torres Vedras, actions
of Leria, Pombal, Redinha, and Sabugal—contused wound on the groin ; battle of Fuentes d'Onor,
second siege of Badajoz,—contused wound on the chest; actions of El Bodon and Aldea de
Ponte, siege and capture of Ciudad Rodrigo,—wounded in the right thigh at the assault ; third
siege and capture of Badajoz,—contused wound in the neck at the assault; battle of Salamanca,
—horse killed ; capture of Madrid and the Retiro, battles of the Nivelle, the Nive, and Orthes ;
actions of Sauveterre and Vic Bigorre, and battle of Toulouse,—horse wounded. Served atterwards
in the American war, and was^presesent at the action of Plattsburg.
