1 Sir Evan Llyod served on regimental full-pay from 1780 to 1812, the whole period in the 17th Light
Dragoons, and was present with that corps in nearly all the actions and sieges in which it was engaged in
India; he also served in South America in 1806 and 7, and was at the taking of Monte Video, and in the
expedition to Buenos Ayres.
2 Colonel Clark Kennedy served in the Peninsula from Sept. 1809 to Sept 1818, including the battles of
Fuentes d’Onor and Vittoria, besides various affairs of out-posts; received two wounds at Waterloo. While
leading his squadron in a successful charge against the Count D’Erlon’s corps at Waterloo, perceiving an
Eagle to the left, he changed the direction of his, squadron, and ran the officer through the body who car¬
ried it, and which belonged to the 105th French Regiment of Infantry, and is now deposited in Whitehall.
3 Dr. Cathcart served at the capture of Martinique in 1809, and Guadeloupe in 1810. Also throughout
the Burmese war, and was present in almost every action and storming party during the war.
