paign of 1815, including the battles of Qaatre Bras and Waterloo, at which latter he was slightly
wounded.
21 Major Wm. Smith served at the capture of Martinique in 1809, as Adjutant of the 63d.
22 Major Here served in Egypt in 1801, and has received the medal.
23 Major Lawrence served in Egypt in 1801, and has received the medal.
24 Mijor B. S. Wilkinson served on board 11. M. S. Diomede, in Lord Duncan’s fleet off
Camperdown, blockading the Dutch fleet in the Texel in 1798; after which proceeded to India
and fell in with a large body of Malay pirates oft Batavia, which were completely destroyed.
On board the Leander at the capture of the Ville de Milan French frigate, and recapture of the
Cleopatra, off Bermuda Sarved also in the expedition on the north coast of Spain, under Sir
James Malcolm and Captain Parke. Major Wilkinson has served in every quarter of the globe,
and was taken prisoner by the American* near Norfolk in Virginia while carrying despatches.

25 Mijor James Johnston served at the taking of Madeira in 1807; capture of Guadaloupe
and dependencies, St. Martins, and St. Eustatius in 1810; also one campaign against the
Burmese.
26 Major Goate’s services;—Expedition to Germany in 1805 under Lord Cathcart; storming
the heights of Soril, siege of Fort Bourbon, and capture of Martinique, in 1808; Nepaul war in
1815, and was engaged on the heights of Muckwanpore, 15th Dec.; capture of Hattress in 1816;
Mahratta and Pindaree campaigns of 1817 and 18, Burmese war in 1825 and 26.
28 Major Hunt served at Hanover, in 1805, and 1806; at Copenhagen, in 1807; and in the
Peninsula from Sept. 1810 to May 1812, including the siege of Ciudad Bodrigo.
29 Major Shadwell Clerke served the Peninsular campaigns of 1808, 9, 10, and first part of
1811, including the battles of Boleia and Vimicra, retreat to Corunna, actions at Lugo and
before Corunna, battle of Corunna (contused on the forehead by a musket-ball), operations on
the Coa during the siege and battle of Almeida, battle of Busaco, retreat to the lines of Torres
Vedras, affair near L- ria, and actions of Pombal and Bedinha, at which last he was severely
wounded in the right leg, which was afterwards amputated.
30 Major Kitson served throughout the Kandian war of 1817, 18, and 19.
31 Major Noel served in St. Domingo in 1796, 97, and 98, under Generals Boyer and Sir
Brent Spencer, and was wounded in the right thigh, when the French attacked the Cordon
of Posts. Ssrved also at the capture of St. Lucia, Tobago, and the colonies of Demerara,
Essequibo, and Berbice.
33 Major Sherer served in the Peninsula with the 34th from July 1809 to Dec. 1811, and
from August 1812 to July 1813, including the battles of Busaco, Albuhera, Arroyo de Molino,
Vittoria, anil Maya in the Pyrenees.
34 Major Maling served at Copenhagen in 1807, and in the Peninsula in 1808.
35 Major Samuel Thorpe served with the 23rd in the Peninsula under Sir John Moore, in¬
cluding the action at Lugo and battle of Corunna. Capture of Walcheren in 1809. Subse¬
quently in the Peninsula, including the siege of Olivenga, siege of Badajoz in 1811, battle of
Albuhera (twice wounded). Served with the 39th at the battle of Toulouse, when he was
again severely wounded. Also in the American war at Plattsburg; and subsequently at the
capture of Paris.
36 Major Begbie served in the Peninsula with the 82nd from Aug 1808 to Nov. 1809, in¬
cluding the capture of Oporto and battle of Talavera,
38 Major Macpherson served in Hanover iu 1805 and 6; at Buenos Ayres in 1807; in Por¬
tugal and Spain from July 1808 to Jan. 1809, including the battles of Boleia and Vimiera;
acion at Lugo, and battle of Corunna. With the expedition to Walcheren, and siege of Flush¬
ing, where he was wounded; the Peninsular campaigns from May to Dec 1812, including the
battle of Salamanca, where be was severely wounded.
39 Major Hartman served in the expedition to Hanover in 1805-6; at the siege of Copen ¬
hagen iu 1807; in Sweden, Portugal, and Spain iu 1808-9, including the advance and retreat of
the army and in the battle of Corunna. Expedition to Walcheren, 1809; subsequent campaigns
in the Peninsula and France, including the defence of Tarifa and affair of Casas Viejas, bat¬
tle of Barrosa, actions of Arroyo del Molino and Almarez, battles of Vittoria, the Pyrenees
(25th, 30th, and 31st July), Pass of Maya, Nivelle, Nive, Bayonne, and Orthes; affair at St
Palais, and battle of Toulouse
40 Major Pinckney served with the 36i.h on the expedition to South America, including
the taking of Maldonado and siege of Monte Video; in the Peninsula from June 1808 to May
1809, including the battles of Boleia and Vimiera. On the expedition to Walcheren in 1809;
received the flag of truce at the outpost at the attack and capture of Ter Vere; present also at
Middleburgh and Flushing.
41 Major Mackay served with the 68th on the expedition to Walcheren, and at the capture
of Flushing in 1809. Also in the Peninsula from June 1811 to the end of that war in 1814, in¬
cluding the battle of Salamanca, retreat from Burgos, and battles of Vittoria (wounded in the
head), the Pyrenees, the Nivelle, and Orthes.
42 Major Aubin served in the Peninsula from Nov. 1811 to the end of the war, including
the battles of Vittoria, the Pyrenees, 25th, 28th, 30th, and 31st July; Nivelle, Nive, 9th, 11 tb,
