62 Lt.Colonel Harrison served in the Sutlej campaign in 1846 and was present at the battle of Sobraon (Medal).
63 Lt.Colonel Renny served in the Sutlej campaign from 24th January 1846, and was present at the battle of
Sobraon (Medal). Commanded the 5th (Native) Troop of 1st Brigade, Bengal Horse Artillery, which served
faithfully throughout the mutiny (firing on the mutinous Cavalry and Infantry at Jullunder on the night of the 7th
June 1857) ; and throughout the siege and capture of Delhi and subsequent operations in MozufFernuggur District
and Rohilcund, ending with Sir Robert Walpole’s action at Sisseah on the 15th Jan. 1859, for which action the Troop
received the highest praise in General Orders by Lord Clyde and the Government of Inoia. Every Native Officer re¬
ceived the Order of British India, and every Non-Commissioned Officer and man the Order of Merit for his services at
Jullunder and Delhi. Commanded No. 4 Siege Battery covering the assault at Delhi on the 14th September 1857,
and then with Troop turned captured Ordnance in Cashmere Bastion on the City, and kept up fire until assault of
the Magazine on the 16th, when the Troop turned the Mortars captured there on Fore Selimghur and the Palace,
and continued fire until their capture on the 20th September. Received the Victoria Cross for defence of the Ma¬
gazine after its capture on the 16th September, and was specially mentioned for services at Delhi in supplementary
Despatch by Sir A. Wilson (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp). Commanded “ D ” Battery “ F ” Brigade Royal
Horse Artillery throughout the Hazara and Black Mountain campaign of 1868, the guns being carried on

97 Sir William Hamilton was wounded in six places during a night attack on his Camp by 200 Affreedies whilst
making a military road to Fort Makeson and encamped six miles from Peshawur. Out of 60 burkundaz and
employes in the camp 15 were killed and 31 wounded. Served before Delhi from the 26th June to the capture of
the city on the 20th Sept. 1857, having organized the 1st Company of Sikh Artillerj^ during the siege, and constantly
