210 Lieut. L. C. Travers served with the 1st Battalion, 60th Rifles, during the second siege
operations at Mooltan, including the siege and storm of the town and capture of the Citadel.
Was afterwards at the battle of Goojerat, pursuit of the Sikh army under Rajah Shere Sing,
until its final surrender at Rawul Pindee, occupation of Attock and Peshawur, and expulsion of
the Affghan force, under the Ameer Dost Mahomed, beyond theKhyber Pass (Medal and Clasps).
212 Lieut. Thos. Turner served in the Peninsula with the 2.3rd and was present at the battles
of Corunna, Vittoria, and Nivelle, for which he has received the War Medal with three Clasps.
213 Lieut. Vallancey served in the Peninsula with the Royals, and was present at the battles
of Busaco, Puentes d'Onor, Salamanca, Nivelle, and Nive, and at the siege of Badajoz, for which
he has received the War Medal with six Clasps.
214 Lieut. H. Thomas Vereker served in the Peninsula with the 83rd, and has received the
Silver War Medal with three Clasps for Busaco, Puentes d’Onor, and Salamanca.
215 Lieut. Vesey served in the Peninsula with the 76th and was present at the battles of
Nivelle and Nive, for which he has received the "War Medal with two Clasps.
210 Lieut. Alexander Walker served in the Peninsula with the old 97th and was present at
the battles of Yimiera, Talavera, Busaco, and Albuhera, for which he has received the War
Medal with four Clasps.
217 Lieut. Geo. Fred. Walker served with the Baltic expedition in 1854 (Medal).
218 Lieut. H. R. Wallace served in the Peninsula with the 7th Fusiliers and was present at
the battles of Busaco, Albuhera, Salamanca, Orthes, and Toulouse, and at the sieges of Ciudad
Rodrigo and Badajoz, for which he has received the War Medal with seven Clasps.
219 Lieut. Ward was at the capture of Java in 1811 (War Medal with one Clasp).
220 Lieut. Andrew Watson served the Waterloo campaign with the 33rd Foot.
221 Lieut. George Watson served in the Peninsula with the 3rd Dragoons from June
1813 to the end of that war in 1814, and was present at the battle of Toulouse.
222 Lieut. William Weir served in the Peninsula with the 27th and was present at the siege
of Badajoz, and battles of Busaco, Vittoria, Pyrenees, and Nivelle, for which he has received
the War Medal with five Clasps.
223 Lieut. George White served in the Peninsula with the 3Gth and was present at the battle
of Salamanca, for which he has received the War Medal with one Clasp.
225 Lieut. Whiting served on the Chinese expedition, and was present at the battle of Chuen-
pee, attack of the Anunghoy batteries, advance on Canton, capture of the heights of Canton, cap¬
ture of Colongso, second capture of Chusan, assault and capture of the citadel and city of Chinhae
(Medal).
226 Lieut. Wigley served at the capture of Martinique in 1809 and of Guadaloupe in 1810,
for which he has received the War Medal with two Clasps.
227 Lieut. Wigton served in the Peninsula with the 9th and was present at the battles of
Yimiera and Salamanca, for which he has received the War Medal with two Clasps.
228 Lieut. Willis served at Walcheren, and was present at the siege of Flushing. Served
also the Peninsular campaigns of 1811, 12, and 14, including the 2nd and 3rd sieges of Badajoz,
investment of Bayonne, and repulse of the sortie. He has received the War Medal with one
Clasp for Badajoz.
229 Lieut. Windle served with the 10th at the siege of Scylla Castle, in 1808. Present with
the Anglo-Sicilian army during the whole of its operations on the coast of the Faro, against
Murat. With the army on the eastern coast of Spain, in 1812 and 13.
230 Lieut. Winne served with the Royal Marines, on the North Coast of Spain in 1837-38.
Was landed in 1845 with a detachment at Monte Video for the protection of British subjects
and property during the siege of that city by the Argentine army under General Oribe, and
was in garrison there until the end of the Civil war.
231 Lieut. Henry Wood served in the Peninsula with the 76th, from June 1813 to the end of
that war in 1814, including the siege of San Sebastian, passage of the Bidassoa, battles of
Nivelle and Nive, and investment of Bayonne. Served afterwards in the American war, and
was present in the action of Plattsburg. He has received the War Medal with two Clasps.
232 Lieut. Woods served in the Peninsula with the 48th in 1810 and 1811, and with the 4th
Dragoon Guards in 1812, including the Lines of Torres Vedras, pursuit of Massena, and the
operations in the Alemtejo; action of Campo Mayer, siege of Olivenqa, and first siege of
Badajoz; with Colonel Colborne’s Brigade, when, by a rapid advance, several convoys were
intercepted, and the country cleared to Guadalcanal and the fortified post of Benelcazar; battle
of Albubera, where he received two wounds and some severe contusions, and was taken
prisoner in the charge of the Polish Lancers, but subsequently escaped and rejoined the army
on its advance. He has received the War Medal with one Clasp.
233 Lieut. Wray served with the 40th in the Peninsula and was present at the battles of
Vittoria and the Pyrenees, for which he has received the War Medal with two Clasps. Ho
next accompanied the regiment on the New Orleans expedition, and subsequently served the
campaign of 1815 and was present at the battle of Waterloo, after which he was specially
employed as acting engineer officer on Sir John Lambert’s staff, on the line of march to Paris.
234 Lieut. Wm. Wright (h. p. Rifle Brigade) served in Holland in 1813 and 1814, and
was present at the attack on Merxem and bombardment of the French fleet at Antwerp.
Served also the campaign of 1815, and was severely wounded at Waterloo.
