1 Sir John Slade served in Spain, under Sir John Moore ; he had the command of the Hussar Brigade,
and was engaged in the different affairs with tiie French Cavalry at Sahagun and Benevente, in the retreat
to Corunna, and battle of Corunna. Placed again on the staff in the Peninsula, in Aug. 1809, where he
served until June, 1813, in command of a brigade of cavalry, and was at the battle of Busaco, pursuit of
Massena from Sanlerem, and battle of Fuentes d’Onor, where he had his horse shot under him. Sir John
has received the gold Medal and one Clasp for Corunna and Fuentes d’Onor, and the silver War Medal with
one Clasp for Sahagun and Beneventc.
2 Lieut.-Col. BaMers served the campaign on the Sutlej in 1845-6 (Medal), and commanded the 3rd Light Dragoons in the
battles of Moodkee and Ferozeshah (wounded).
3 Lieut. Henley served the campaign of 1814 in the Peninsula, including the battle of Toulouse.
5 Dr. Barlow’s services:—Expedition to Copenhagen in 1807; capture of Martinique in 1809; campaign
1815 in the Netherlands and France. He has received the War Medal with one Clasp for Martinique.
