3 Major Irwin served in the
Peninsula from the beginning
of 1809, to the end of the war,
including the passage of the
Douro; battles of Talavera
(wounded), Busaco, and Campo
Mayor; first siege of Badajoz;
battles of Albuhera, Aroyo de
Molino, Almarez, Vittoria (se¬
verely wounded), Niveile, Nive,
Orthes, and Toulouse. Present
on the 16th, (severely wounded)
and 18th June, at Waterloo.
4 Capt. Hunter served in the
Peninsula from Feb. 1813 to the
end of the war, including the
crossing of the Bidassoa (severely wounded by
a musket shot through the body); battles of the
Nive 10th, (wounded) 11th, and 13th December,
Orthes, and Toulouse.
5 Paymaster Benson served in the Peninsula,
from July, 1812, to the end of the war, includ¬
ing the battles of Vittoria, the Pyrenees, (wound¬
ed in the arm), Pampeluna, Niveile, Nive, Or¬
thes, and Toulouse. Served also in the Ameri¬
can war, and was severely wounded in the
right breast by a rifle ball at Plattsburgh.

1 Sir Edward Paget served in the campaign in Flanders and Holland in 94. He was present in the
naval action off Cape St. Vincent, 14 Feb. 97; in the actions of the 8th, 13th, and 31st March, in Egypt (in
tile latter he was wounded), tiie investment of Cairo and Alexandria. Sir Edward lost his right arm in the
action at Oporto, 12th May 09, and has received a Medal for Corunna.
2 Colonel French served the campaigns of 1813-14, in the Peninsula, including the battles of Niveile,
Orthes, and Toulouse.
