the sieges of Komona aud Gunowrie in 1808, and at Kalunga in 1814. Served the campaigns
against the Piiidarrces in 1817 and 18.
188 Lieut.Coloncl Van dcr Mculen served in the Peninsula from May 1800 to Aug. 1811, and
again from Sept. 1812 to tlie end of the war, including the battles of Talavera (severely wounded),
Busaco, Albiiliora (severely vvoimded), Vittoria, Pyrenees (severely wounded 28th July), Nivelle,
Orthes, and Toulouse, besides various minor engagements and skirmishes.
189 Lord Adolphus Vane Tempest served with the Scots Fusilier Guards at the siege and fall
of Sebastopol (rom Nov. 1854 (Medal and Clasp, 0th Class of the Medjidie, Eid Turkish Medal).
190 Lt.Colonel ^^â– ard served with the 01st Regt. in the Kaffir war of 1846-47 (Medal).
191 Lt.Colonel A. Watson served during the suppression of the Rebellion in the Kandian
Provinces, Island of Ceylon, in 1848, and was present when the insurgents were defeated at
Matole on the 20th July".
102 Lieut.Colonel W.Watson served in the American war with the 41st Regt., and has received
the War Medal with one Clasp for Fort Detroit.
103 Lieut Colonel Waugh served the Mahratta campaign with the 16th Lancers, including the
battle of Maharajpore (Medal), 20th Dec. 1843; also as Assist. Quarter Master General to Sir
Harry Smitli during the campaign of the Sutlej (Medal and one Clasp), including the battles of
Buddiwal, Aliwal, and Sobraon (wounded).
194 Lt.Colouel Webster served tlie camijaign of 1815 with the 44th Begt. and was severely
woun<led at Quatre Bras.
190 Lt.Colonel Westropp served with the 29th Regt. in the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46,
including the battles of Ferozcshah and Sobraon (Medal and Clasp).
197 Lieut.Colonel G. F. White served the campaign on the Sutlej in 184.5-6, with the SlstBegt.,
including the battles of IMoodkee and Ferozeshah, for which he has received the Medal and one
Clasp. He was afterwards present at Buddiwal.
198 Lt.Col. T. White served with the 32nd Regt. in Canada during the rebellion in 1837-38,
and was piesent at the action of St. Eustache.
201 Lt.Colonel G. D. Wilson served with the 4th Regt. on the expedition to the Helder in 1799,
and was present in the actions of the 2nd and 0th October. Siege of Copenhagen in 1807. Expedi-
tion, fji'st to Sweden and afterwards to the Peninsula, under Sir John Moure, including the retreat
through Spain, and battle of Corunna (wounded). Accompanied it to Walcheron in 1809.
Joined the army at the Lines of Torres Vedras in 1810, and was afterwards present in the pursuit
of Massena, action of Sabugal, battle of Fuentes d'Onor, action at Barba del Puerco, storming of
Badajoz (severely wounded). Aide de Camp to Major General Pringle at the battle of Salamanca,
capture of Madrid and the Retiro, siege of Burgos and retreat therefrom, affair of Villa Muriel,
battles of the Nivelle, the Nive, and St. Pierre, Orthcs, and St. Palais. Served also the campaign
of 1815; commanded the 4th Regt. at the battle of Waterloo, and was wounded. He has received
the Gold Medal for Barlajoz, and the Silver War Medal with six Clasps for Corunna, Fuentes
d'Onor, Salamanca, Pyrenees, Nivelle, and Nive.
202 Lieut.Colonel C. T. Wilson served the Eastern campaign of 1854 with the Coldstream
Guards, including the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, siege of Sebastopol, and sortie
of 26th October (Medal and Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
203 Lt.Colonel Wilton served the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46 with the 60th Regt.; was sent
to take command of the Fort and Cantonments of Loodianali, but was subsequently present
with the 50th Regt. in the battles of Aliwa! (severely burnt by an explosion of one of the
enemy's tumbrils) and Sobraon—very severely wounded, being shot in the hip, and seven severe
sabre wounds in the left shoulder, right arm broken (Medal and Clasps). Served the Eastern
campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alaia and Inkerman, at the latter in command
of the right wing 50th Regt. throughout that day, being sent to support the 1st Division, and
commanded the Regt. at the fall of Sebaslopol (Medal and tlirce Clasps, Cli., Knight of the
Legion of Honor, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, 4th Class of the Medjidie).
204 Lt.Colonel Wragge served at tlio siege of Sebastopol from Dec. 1854 to May 1855, in
the trenches with the siege train, and at the bombardment in April (Medal and Clasp, and
Turkish Medal).
205 Lieut.Colonel Wyndham received two severe wounds at Waterloo, on the 18th June.
206 Lieut.Colonel Yale has received a Medal for the battle of Albuhera.
207 Lt.Colonel Hagart served with (he 7th Hussars in Canada during the revolt there in
1858, and returned home with the Regt. in 1841. Served in the tield in India as Lt.Col. 7tU
Hussars from 4th Feb. to 17th March 1858, including the affairs of Meangunge aud the siege
of Lucknow (Medal and Clasp, and CU.). Commanded the Cavalry of Sir Hope Grant's
column from 18th March to 23d July 1858, including the advance on the Mossebagh and
skirmishes there I9th and 31st, also the affairs of Barree and Sirsee, and action of Nawabgunge
on the Fyzabad road; was also in command of the 7th Hussars at the occupation of Fyzabad
(several times mentioned iu despatches).
War Services of Retired Majors.
1 Major Adair served with the 27th Regt. in Sicily in 1810 and 11; in the Peninsula and
France from 1812 to the close of that war in 1814, including the taking of Alcoy, covering the
retreat from Biar, battle of Castalla, siege and subsequent blockade of Tarragona, and actions at
Villa Franca. Subsequently in Flanders and France, including the occupation of Paris in 1815.
2 Major Amsinck served with the 27ih Regt. in the Kaffir war of 1834-35 (Medal).
3 Major Anderson served with the 51st throughout the Burmese war of 1853-63; on board
