I General the Hon. Henry Murray served in Naples, Sicily, and Calabria, in 180C-7. Accom¬
panied the expedition to E^-ypt in March 1807, and was present, as an Aide-de-Camp, at the attack on
Alexandria, siege and storming of Rosetta, and on every other occasion when our trooiss weie engaged.
Served at Walclieren in 18t)'.l, including the siege and surrender of Flushing. Wentwitli the IStli Hussars
to the Peninsula m Jan, 1813 ; present at the crossing ol the Esiai', and coinnianded the Regiment in sup-
])uri of the 10th Hussars at the action of Muraies de Toro. .Served also in tlie campaign of 1815, including
the battle of Quatre Bras; commaaded the rear ri'giment of the i.'olumn on the retreat during thefollowing
day i and, at the battle of Wateiloo, he led the 18th Uussarsin the brilliant charge of Sir Hussey Vivian's
Brigade, at the conclusion o! tlie action.
3 Maj. Scudaraorc and Capt.Todd served with the 4th Lt. Dra. throughout the campaign in Affjhanistan in 1838-39
includiugthc siege aud capture of Ghuznee IJIcdal). Tliey served with the 11th Lt. Urn. throughout the Puijjdub
campaign of 1848-9, including the action of Ramnuggur, passage of the Chennb, battles of Chillianwallali and Goojerat
(Medal and Clasps). Maj. Scudaniore was slightly wounded at Itaiumiggur, and dangerously at Goojerat.
4 Major (Jail served with the 14ih Lt. Drs. throughout the I'unjatib campaign of 1848-U, including the
action of Ramnuggur (witli the charging squadrons), battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat (Medal and
Clasps). He received a severe sabre wound at Ramnuiigur in an eftbrtto seize one of the enemy's standards.
5 Captain Thompson served with the 7th Dragoon Guards against the insurgent Boers in South Africa in
1845; and likewise in the Kaflttr -v^ir of 1848-7 (Medal).
0 Captains Prettejolin, liairott, English, and Ulyth, seved throughout the Purijaub campaign of 1848-0,
including the action ot Kamnuggur (with the charging squadrons), passage of the Chenab, battles of
Chilljauwallah and Goojerat, pursuit of the enemy across the Jlielum, and of the Aftghans over the
Indus through the Khyber Pass (Medal and Clasps).
12 Doctor LofthouaC served with tlie lOtli Hussars in the Crimean campaign of 1855, including the siege
and fall of £ebastopol, battle of the Tchernsya, and affair of 21st Sept. nearKertch (Medal and Clasp).
