* Colonel Needham served with the ist Life Guards in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was present in the
engagements at El Magfarand Mahsama, in the action at Kassasin(28i.h August), at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir, and
at the capture of Cairo (Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
* Colonel Hon. C. C. G. Byng served in the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 with the Heavy Camel Regiment, and
was present in the emragements at Abu Klea, El Gubat, and Mctammeh, and at the attack on the convoy on the i4tb
February 1885 (mentioned in despatches. Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with two Clasps).

capture of Cairo (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star). Served in the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 with the
