the battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps). Also at the siege and capture of Delhi m
1857 (Medal with Clasp, and promoted to an Unattached Ensj_gncy for service in the field).
" Major Skrine served with the 78th Highlanders in the Persian war in 1857, including the expedition to Boraz-
joon, the night attack and battle of Kooshab, and bombardment of Mohumrah (Medal with Clasp). Served iu Bengal
with Havelock's Column from its first taking the field in 1S57, including the actions of Futtehpore, Aoung, Pandoo
Nuddee, Ca^vnpore, Onao, Buseerutgunge (first and second), Bithoor, and the several actions leading to and ending m
the relief of the Residency of Lucknow and the subsequent defence; with Outram's Force at the Ahimbagh, including
the repulse of the numerous attacks on that position, and in the operations ending in the final capture of Lucknow;
the Rohilcund campaign in 1858 and capture of Bareilly (Medal with two Clasps, and a year's service for Lucknow).

of i85o in China, including the action of Sinho, taking of Tangku, and capture of the Taku Forts (Medal with Clasp).

51 Captain Marvin served in the New Zealand wars of 1860-61 and 1863-64 and was present at Waitara and
Pakahinaliina (Medal).
5' Captain J. Grant Elliott was present at the capture of theKings and Chiefs of Pram Pram and Ninpo in Oct. 1S67
(mentioned in despatches). Also present as English Commissioner at the storming and capture of the Forts of Com-
mendah. Western Africa, in Feb. 1868 (mentioned in despatches).
5« Captain Briggs served in the 9th Regiment in the Crimea from 29th November 1854, including the siege and fall
of Sebastopol and assault of the Batteries on the i8th June (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
5^ Captain Bacon served with the 62nd Regiment in the Crimean campaign from the i3thNov. 1854, including the
siege and fall of Sebastopol, attack on the Quarries on the Sth June, and assaults of the Redan on the iSth June
and Sth Sept. (mentioned in despatches, Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
59 Captain J. J. Morris served at the Head Quarters Camp before Sebastopol from April 1855 to July 1856, and
has the Crimean and Turkish Medals.
^ Captain Bateman was attached to the Royal Artillery during the operations against the Tacpings in the vicinity
of Shanghai from April to Oct. 1862, resulting'in the taking of the stockade at Nanhsiang, capture by escalade of
the walled cities of Khadin, Tsinpoo, and Tsolin, the fortified town of Najow, affair at Nanhsiang, and second capture
of Khadin. Also served as Assistant Engineer on the survey of the 30 niile.circuit round Shanghai, under Lt.Colonel
C. G. Gordon, from 27th Dec. 1S62 to 2nd Feb. 1863.

actions at Cawnpore on 26th 27th and 28th Nov. 1857, capture of Meeangungo, siege and capture of Lucknow, relief
of Azimghur, and Brigade Quarter Master to Colonel Kelly's Force engaged in the operations on the Nepaul Fron¬
tier, and present at the defeat of the rebels at Bootwul (Medal with Clasp),
