' Major Dubcrly served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 8th Hussars, inclnding the battles of Alma.
Balaklava, Inkerman, and Tchernaya, affairs of Bulganak and M'Kenzie's Farm, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal
with four Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Served in Rajpootana. and Central India in 1858-59, including the capture
of Kotah, reoccupation of Chundaree, battle of Kotah ke Serai, capture of GwaUor, actions of Koondrye and
Boordah (Medal with Clasp).
2 Major Bampfield served with the ist Royals in the Crimea from the 22nd April 1855, inclnding the siege and fall
of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served also the campaign of i860 in China, including the
occujiation of Tientsin and surrender of Pekin (Medal with Clasp).
^ Major M'Clintock has received the Medal f^or the KafHr war of 1S51-52. He was in Commissariat charge of a
strong force which marched from Natal to the Orange River Sovereignty to the assistance of the troops at Bloem-
fontein against the Ba.suto chief Moshcsh, from Aug. 1851 to Jnly 1852.
' Major Hall served with the 14th Regiment in the Crimea from the 14 Jan. 1335, including the siege and fall of
Sebastcpol(Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
" Major Large served with the Rifle Brigade in the Kaffir war of 1852-53 (Medal); also throughout the Eastern
campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with three
Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
^ Major Forster served with the 5th Fusiliers in the Indian'mntinj' campaign, and was present at the capture of
Lucknow and subsequent operations (Medal with Clasp).
'" Major Robert Scott served with the 89th Regiment in the Crimea from 15th Dec. 1854, including the siege and
all of Sebastopol, and attacks of the i8th June and 8th September (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
1^ Major Nowlan served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 50th Regiment, including the battles of Alma
and lukerman, siege and fall of Scbasiopol (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
'* Major Wethcred served in the Crimean campaign of 1854 with the 95th Regiment, including the battle of Alma
(Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
'^ Major Leigh served as Brigade Major to the force under Colonel O'Connor, Governor of the Gambia, which
•termed and destroyed the strongly stockaded Mandingo town of Sabajee on the ist June 1853.
"^ Major FitzPatrick served with the 2nd Battalion 60th Ritlcs throughout the Kaffir war of 1851-53 (Medal). In
the suppression of the Indian mutiny in 1858 in the Shahahad district (Medal). Also served throughout the cam¬
paign of 1S60 in China (Medal with two Clasps).
'' Major Streatfcild served with a Detachment of the 24th Regiment at the defeat of the Jhelum mutineers on the
7th July 1857, and was severely wounded in both legs, right leg amputated (Medal).
^' Major Burke served with the 55th Regiment in China (Medal), and was present at the taking of Amoy, the
second capture of Chusan, occupation of Niugpo, repulse of the night attack on Chinhae, expedition to Yon-You up
the Ningpo river, taking of Chapoo, and operations in the Woosnng and Y'ang-tse-Kiang rivers. Served the
Eastern campaign of 1S54-55, including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sehastopol. repulse of
the sortie of 26th October, and assault of the Redan on Sth September (Medal with three Clasps, sth Class of the
Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Served on the Bhootan expedition in 1865 (Medal with Clasp).
'^ Major Scott served with the 55th Regt. in China, and was present at the capture of Amoy, second capture of
Chusan, and repulse of the night attack on Chinhae (Medal). Served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, inclnding
the battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege of Sebastopol, repulse of the sortie on 26th Oct.1854, and attack on the
Quarries on 7th June—wounded, and mentioned in despatches (Medal with three Clasps, Sardinian and Turkish
Medals).
2" Major Thompson served with the 53rd Regiment in the Indian campaign of 1857-59, including the relief of
Lncknow by Lord Clyde, battle of CawTipore on 6th Dec. and pursuit of the Gwalior Contingent to Serai
Ghat, action of Khodagunge and entry into Futtehghur, siege and capture of Lucknow, and passage of the
Gogra at Fyzabad on 25th Nov. (Medal with two Clasp).
2' Major Fereday served with the Land Tr.ansport Corps in the Crimea subsequent to the fall of Sebastopol, from
the Toth November 1855 to the 12th August 1866. Served with the 68th Light Infantry in the New Zealand war in
1864-66 (Medal).
'^ Major George Elliott served with the 7th Hussars in the Indian campaign from Feb. 1858 to March 1859 and was
present at the repulse of the enemy's attack on the Alumbagh, siege and capture of Lucknow, affair of Barree, and
action of Nawabgunge, occupation of Fyzabad, passage of the Goomtee at Sultanpore, throughout the Byswarra
campaign, including the affairs of Kandoo Nuddee and Hyderghur, also the Trans-Gogra camjiaign, including the
aflfair near Churda and pursuit, taking the Fort of Meejeedia, attack on Bankee and pursuit to the Raptee, advance
into Nepanl and affair at Sitkaghat (Medal with Clasp).
^* Major Anderson landed iu the Crimea in 1855, and served with the 71st Highlanders at the siege of Sebastopol
and expedition to Kertch (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served also iu the Central India campaign of
1S58, including the actions of Koonch, Caporoe, and Gowlowlee, capture of Calpee, action of Morar, and capture of
Gwalior (Medal with Clasp).
2" Major Simpson served with the 65th Regiment in the New Zealand war in 1863-65 (Medal).
"Major Morris served with the 95th Regiment in 1858 at the siege and capture of Kotah, battle of Kota ke
Serai, general action resulting in the capture of Gwalior (Medal with Clasp).
'9 Major Currie was present during the mutiny at Allahabad on 6th June 1857, and subsequently served in the
Fort of Allahabad (Medal).
2° Major Joyiier served with the 93rd Highlanders throughout the Crimean campaign of 1854-55, inclnding the
battles of Alma and Balaklava, expedition to Kertch and Yenikale, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and assaults of the
i8th June and 8th September (Medal with three Clasps, Turkish Medal, and French War Medal). Served also in
the Indian campaign of 1857-58, including the relief of Luckiiow by Lord Clyde, defeat of the Gwalior Contingent
of Cawnpore, and pursuit to Seraighat, affair of Kalee Nuddee, siege of Lucknow, affair of Allegunge, battle
at Baroilly, actions of I'usgaoi, Russnlpore, and Mithewlie (Medal with two Clasps).
" Major Samwell served us Brigade Major of the Hyderabad Contingent Field Force in the suppression of the
