' Major Haydock served with the 90th Light Infantry in the Crimea from the 10th August 1855, including the
siege and fall of Sebastopol, and was with the storming party at the assault of the Redan on the 8th September—
wounded (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Also served during the Indian campaign of 1857-58, and was
present with Havelock's Column at the actions of Mungawar and Alumbagh, relief and subsequent defence of Luck-
now, defence of the Alumbagh under Outram, siege knd fall of Lucknow (Medal with two Clasps, and a year's
service).
" Captain Lefroy served with the 45th Regt. m the Abyssinian campaign in 1868 (Medal).

severely wounded in the right arm at the battle of Amoaful (Medal with Clasp).
ii^ Captain Brickenden accompanied the 42nd Highlanders to the Gold Coast (Ashanti Medal).
'^ Captains Eden andBrophyand Lieut. Munro served with the 42nd Highlanders throughout the second phase of
Uio Ashanti war in 1874, and were present at the battle of Amoaful, capture and destruction of the town of Becquali
battle of Ordahsu and capture of Coomassie (Medal with Clasp). '
IS Captain Wauchope served in the Ashunti war from the 30th November 1873. Commanded the Winnebah company
of Russell's Regiment from the Prah to the Adansi Hills ; thenserved as Staff Officer to Colonel M'Leod commanding
the Advanced Guard, and was present at the capture and destruction of Adubiassie, cajiture of Borborassie, battio
of Amoaful, capture and destruction of Becquah, Advanced Guard engagement of Jarliiubah (wounded slightly),
skirmishes and ambuscade affairs between Adwabin and the river Ordah, and battle of Ordahsu—severely wounded
(mentioned in despatches. Medal with Clasp).
IS Lieut. Harvey served with the 42ud Highlanders in the second phase of the Ashanti war in 1874, and was
present at the battle of Amoaful (Medal with Clasp).
" Lieut. Stevenson served as Adjutant of the 42nd Highlanders throughout the second phase of the Ashanti war
in 1874, and was present at the battle of Amoaful (wounded slightly), capture and destruction of Becquah, battle
of Ordahsu and capture of Coomassie (twice mentioned in despatches. Medal with Clasp).
22 Lieuts. Grogan (wounded slightly at Ordahsu) and Moubray (wounded slightly at Amoaful) served throughout
the second phase of the Ashanti war in 1874, and were present at the battle of Amoaful, capture and destruction of
Becquah, battle of Ordahsu and capture of Coomassie (Medal with Clasp).
2* Quarter Master Forbes served with the 42nd Highlanders throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, in¬
cluding the battles of Alma and Balaklava, expedition to Kertch and Yenikali, siege and fall of Sebastopol (IMedal
with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Served also the camjiaign of 1857-58 against the mutineers in India, in¬
cluding the actions at Cawnpore (6th Deo. 1857), Seraighaut, Khodagunge, and Shumshabad, siege and fall of
Lucknow, and assault of the Martiniere, Banks' Bungalo, and Begum's Kotee, attack on the Fort of Roohea,
action at Allygunge, battle of Bareilly, and action at Sisseaghaut (Me<ial with Clasp). Sei-ved throughout ciie
second phase'oi'the Ashanti war in 1874, and was present at the battle of Amoaful, battle of Ordahsu and capture-
of Coomassio (Modal with Clasp).
