Merit. Subsequently he served in ihe Peninsula, and was present during the retreat from Burgos,
passage of the Bidassoa, and in the battles of Nivelle and Nive, and investment of Bayonne,
for which he has the War Medal witli two Clasps. lii 1813 ho embarked for America, was
present at the attacks upon Washington, Baltimore (wounded), and New Orleans, and was
mentioned in the despatches for personal bravery in the field, for wliich he was promoted
Brevet Major.
51 Lt.Colonel de Morel served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 as Aide de Camp to
General Estcourt, including the hattles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, and siege of Sebas-
topol (Medal and Clasps, Brevet Major, Knight of the Legion of Honour, 6th Class of the
Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
52 Lt.Colonel De Visme has the War Medal with one Clasp for the battle of Fuentes d'Onor.
53 Lt Colonel Dickson served the Eastern campaign of 1854 with the 30th Regt., including the
battles of Alma (severply wounded) and Inkerman (wounded), siege of Sebastopol, and repulse
of the sortie of 26 th Oct. (Medal andthreeClasps, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
54 Lt.Coloncl J. A. Digby served with the 12th Lancers in the Kaffir war of 1851-53 (Medal).
Served witli the Grenadier Guards before Sebastopol (Medal and Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
55 Lieut.Colonel Dillon served in the expedition to St. Domingo in 1809. Served also in
China (Medal), and was present at the first capture of Chusan, storm and capture of the heights
above Canton, and of the sea-batteries on Amoy, and subsequent capture of the city.
55t Lt. Colonel Disbrowe served in the Peninsula with the Grenadier Guards from March
1810 to July 1813. In Holland from Dec. 1813 to Oct. 1815, and was present at the storming
of Bergen op Zoom (wounded), and battles of Quatre Bras and Waterloo.
.56 Lt.Colopel M. T. Doyle sailed in 1805 with Lord Cathcart's expedition to Hanover, and
being shipwrecked be came a prisoner of war to the Dutch. In 1808 he went with Sir Arthur
\Veliesley"s expedition to Portugal and was shot through the body at Roleia. In 1809 he was at
the siege, sortie, and capture of Flushing, and storming of Fort Rimakins. In 1810, 11, and 12
he served in the Peninsula in Picton's Division,—in pursuit of Massena from Santarem, actions
at Pombal, Redinha, Roblida, Condeixa, Sabugal, and Fuentes d' Onor ; siege of Badajoz in
1811, cavalry affair at El Bodon, siege and storm of Ciudad Rodrigo, siege and storm of Bada¬
joz (a ball lodged in the cavity of the chest, unextracted—a ball through the right arm, which
was splintered—neck and head wounded) ; battle of Salamanca, capture of Madrid and the Re-
tiro. In 1814 embarked for Canada in command of a detachment of the 5th—repelled two
attacks on the Transport by Privateers. Present with the Army at Plattsburg. He has re¬
ceived the AVar Medal with seven Clasps.
57 Lt.Colonel Drought served in the Peninsula, France, and Flanders with the 13th Dragoons
and has the War Medal with six Clasps for Albuhera, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Orthes, and
Toulouse.
58 Lt.Colonel Edwards served with the 27th Regt. on the Coast of Calabria, and was present
at the capture of a frigate, corvette, and 24 gun-boats in the Bay of Naples; also at tlie taking
of Iscliia and Procida in 1809 ; the subsequent campaigns in the Peninsula, including the action
at Ordal, battle of Castalla, affair in front of VUla Franca, siege of Tarragona, and investment
of Bayonne. Served afterwards in the American war, and was present at the action at Plattsburg.
59 Lt.Colonel G. A. Ferguson served with the Gienadier Guards in the Crimean Campaign
from the 19th Feb. 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and
Turkish Medal).
60 Lieut.Colonel I'alkiner served iu the Peninsula with the 61st Regt., and was present at the
bsttles of Talavera, Busaco, and Salamanca, for which he has the War Medal with three Clasps.
61 Lt.Colonel Farquharson served in the Crimea from 18th Nov. 1854 until 7th Aug. 1855, in¬
cluding the siege of Sebastopol (severely wounded) : (Medal with one Clasp, 5th Class of the
Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
62 Lt.Colonel Farrer served with the 38th Regt. in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55,
including the battles of Alma and Inkerman and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and tliree Clasps,
Brevet of Major, Turkish Medal, and 5th Class of the Medjidie). Also in the Indian campaign
of 1857-58, including the capture of Meeangunge, siege and capture of Lucknow and affairs of
Barree and Nuggur (Medal and Clasp).
63 Lieut.Colonel Feilden served the Eastern campaign of 1854-66, vfith the 44th Regt.,
including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal and Clasps, and
Turkish Medal).
64 Lieut.Colonel Fcndell served in the Peninsula from 1809 to the end of the war, including
the battles of Albuhera, Usagre, Vittoria, and Toulouse.
66 Lt.Colonel Fisk served as Adjutant of the 17th Light Dragoons during the campaign of
1820 in Kutch.
66 Lord Frederick FitzRoy served under Sir Robert Stopford during the operations on the
coast of Syria in 1840 (Medal).
66t Lt.Colonel Edmonds served in the Penhisula with the C6th Regt. from March 1809 to the
end of that war in 1814, and was slightly woundt-d at the battle of Talavera.
67 Lieut.Colonel Jonathan Forbes accompanied the 78th Regiment to Holland as a volun¬
teer, and was present in action at Merxem 13th January, also on the 2nd February 1814, and at
the bombardment of Antwerp. Served also the campaign of 1814 and 1816 in Flanders.
68 Lt.CoU)nel Forteocue served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, includmg the affairs
of Bulgauac and M'Kenzie's Farm, battles of Aim*, (horae killed), Balaklava, and Inkerraan,
capture of Bilaklava, siege and fall of Sebast-opul (Medal and Clasps, Brevets of Major and
Lt.CJ , Siriimian and Turkish Medals, and 5lli Class of ihe Medjidie).
69 Lt.Colonel the Hon. A. E. Eraser served the Eastern campaign of 1854 with the Scots Fusilier
Guards, including the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, siege of Sebastopol and sortie on
