Rose in 1S5S, and was present at the actions of Koonch and Muttra, battle of Golowlee, capture of Calpee, battle of
Morar, and capture of the town and fortress of Gwalior (Medal with Clasp).
'^ Major Cassidy served in Oude and on the Nepaul frontier in 1858-59 (Medal).
'^ Major D. F. Chambers served with the 75th Regiment in the Indian mutiny campaign of 1837 from the outbreak
on i2th May, including the battle of Budleekeserai, siege (wounded on 8th June) storm and capture of Delhi (Medal
with Clasp).

Sebastopol, and Turkish Medal).

Meanee and Hyderabad (Medal). Also the campaign of 1844-45 ™ t'^s Southern Mahratta country, including the
taking of Punella and Pownghur. Served with the 82nd Regiment in the Indian campaign of 1857-58, including
Windham's operations at Cawnpore, defeat there of the Gwalior Contingent, destruction of Fort Tutoha, action of
Kala Nuddee, occupation ofFurruckabad, defence of the Jail and subsequent operationsat Shahjehanpore (Medal).
'^ Lt.Colonel Creagh served with the 41st Regiment in the Eastern campaign of 1854 up to the 19th Oct., including
the battle of Alma and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, and Turkish Modal).
1" Captain Deacon served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the ist Royals, including the battles of Balaklava
and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sobastopol (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
1* Major Dixon served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 7th Fusiliers, including the battles oi Alma and
Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
1' Lt.Colonol Dunlop served with the 75th Regiment in the Indian campaign of 1857, from the outbreak on the
i2th May, including the battle of Budleekeserai, storm and capture of Delhi (Medal with Clasp).
''" Lt.Colonel Fetherstonhaugh sei-ved with the Central India Field Force under Sir Hugh Rose in 1858, and was
present at the battle of Koonch, all the affairs during the advance on Calpee and action of Golowlee, capture of
Calpee and pursuit, action of Morar, and recapture of Gwahor (Medal with Clasp).
-1 Lt.Colonel Frith served with the 13th Hussars the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the affair of
Bulganac, battles of Alma, Balaklava, Inkermau, and Tchernaya, siege and fall of Sebastopol; was also present
■with the Light Cavalry Brigade at Eupatoria (Medal with four Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
^- Lt.Colonel J. M. Gibbs served with the 20th Regiment in the Indian campaign in 1858, including the capture
of Lucknow, and affairs of Churda and Fort of Musjeedia (Medal with Clasp).
'^^ Major Gooch served as a Lieut, in the 93rd Highlanders through the Indian camimign of 1857-59. including
the action of Bunnee Bridge, relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde, with assaults on the Secundrabagh and Shahnujuf,
defeat of the Gwalior Contiugent at Cawnpore, and pursuit to Serai Ghat, affair at the Kala Nuddee, assault of the
Begum's Kote with siege and fall of Lucknow, attack on Fort Roweah, action of AUygunge, battle of Bareiily,
actions at Pusgaon and Russulpore, and attack on Fort Methowlie (Medal ivith two Clasps).
21 Lt.Colonel T. B. Gray served at the battle of Navarino in 1827. Also in a Battalion under Colonel Owen on the
North Coast of Spain in 1S36-37-38, in co-operation with the Spanish Ai-my, including the field actions of the loth,
12th, and 14th March, and the action of Hernani, 16th March 1837 : he was subsequently appointed Adjutant to the
force under Colonel Parko. He served as Captain on the Coast of Portugal and in the Tagus during the civil war in
1846-47, and was landed with his Detachment from H.M.S. Superb, to guard the captured Divisions of the rebel army
under Count das Antas, prisoners in Fort St. Julian. He received the War Medal with one Clasp.
2j Lt.Colonel Hawker served with the 21st Fusiliers the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma,
Balaklava, and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and expedition to Kinbourn (Medal with four Clasps, and
Turkish Medal).
2*t Lt.Colonel C. F. Heatley served with the 86th Regiment with the Central India Field Force under Sir Hugh
Rose in 1858, and was present at the siege storm and capture of Chundaree and of the town and fortress of Jhansi,
action of Koonch, operations before Calpee from 15th to 21st of May, battle of Golowlee, capture of the town and
port of Calpee, battle of Morar, and capture of the town and fortress of Gwalior (Medal with Clasp). Served with
the i8th Royal Irish in the New Zealand war of 1863-66 (Medal).
'■"' Lt.Colonel Holmes served with the 12th Lancers in the Crimea from oth Mas' 1855 (Medal with Clasp for
Sobastopol, and Turkish Medal).
'' Lt.Colonel Loder was present with the nth Light Dragoons at the siege and capture of Bhurtpore in 1826
(Medal with Clasp). Served with the 9th Bengal Cavalry throughout the campaign in Sind in 1843, including the
battles of Meeanee and Hyderabad (Medal). Served with the ist Bengal Cavalry in the Sutlej campaign in 1846,
and was present at the battle of Aliwal (Medal). Also in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the action
of Ramnugger, battles of Chillianwallah and Gooierat. and subsequent pursuit of the Sikhs and Affghans (Medal
with two Clasps).
-i* Captain Hunt sei-ved the campaign of i860 in China (Medal).
™ Lt.Colonel J. Macartney, late a captain in the 17th Lancers, was present with a squadron of the 13th Light
Dragoons at Kurnool and in the action of Zorapore i8th October 1839. Served with the 17th Lancers in the
Crimea from the 20th June to 14th July, and from September to November 1S55, including the siege of Sebastopol
and battle of Tchernaya (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
2" Lt.Colonel Huskissou served on the Coast of Syria in 1S40 (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served in
China and at Canton during the war in 1856 (Medal).
3' lit.Colonel W. Jolliffe served the Syrian campaign of 1840—at D'Jounai, the storming of Sidon and bombardment
of Acre (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served also with the Baltic expedition in 1854 (Medal).
'■''■' Lt.Colonel M'Naughten landed with the 13th Light Infantry in the Crimea on the 30th June 1855, and was at the
«iege and fall of Scbastopol, and battle of the Tchernaya (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served in the
Indian campaign from 2nd October 1857, and was present at the actions of Jugdespore, Doomoerugunge, and
Toolsepore (Medal).
^'' Captain Macquarie, previous to his having been appointed Paymaster, served in the Army for 20 years, and as
Captain in the 63rd Regiment in the Crimea from 6th Nov. 1854 to the end of August 1855, including the siege of
Sebastopol, expedition to Kertch, attack of the Redan on i8th June, and repulse of various night sorties (Medal with
one Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
^' Major Marshall served with the 65th Regiment at Taranaki, New Zealand, throughout the war of i86o-6i (Medal).
»5 LtColonel Michell served with the 49th Regiment throughout the whole of the operations in China (Medal),
commencing with the first taking of Chusan, and terminating with the demonstration before Nankin, including the
storm and capture of the Heights above Canton, attack and capture of Amoy, second capture of Chusan, attack and
cajiture of the Heights of Chinhae, occupation of Ningpo, and repulse of the night attack; attack and capture of the
enemy's entrenched Camp on the Heights of Scgoan, attack and capture of Chapoo, Woosung, and Chin Kiang Foo.
Served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, sortie of 26th October, and
siege of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, anil Turkish Medal).
'"' Paymaster the Hon. M. Mostyn was appointed specially as a Veterinary Surgeon, and ser\-ed during the whole
Abyssinian campaign, leave having been obtained from the Government of India for him to act in that capacity
to the Transport Train and 3rd Dragoon Guards (Medal). Was sent on remount duty to Smyrna in July 1882,
and was afterwards specially appointed and served as Veterinary Surgeon in the Egj'ptian war (Medal, and
Khedive's Star).
^^ Lt.Colonel Nixon served in the mutiny in India in 1857-58, and was present when the 8ist Regiment, under
Colonel Renny, disarmed at Mean Meer oneRogimcnt of Native Cavalry and three Regiments of Native Infantry,
all disaffected and ripe for mutiny (Medal).
^3 Major Noseley served with the Rifle Brigaxle in the Kaffir war of 1852-53 (Medal). Also in the Eastern cam¬
paign of 1854, including the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman (severely wounded and taken prisoner), and
siege of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
