War Services of the Paymasters on Half Pay.
' Paymaster Relfield served with a Detachment of the 17th Regiment with Lt.Colonel Outram's I^ight Brigade, in.
the Southern Mahratta campaign of 1844-45, !ind was present in all its operations, including the capture of Gotea,
2ist, a,nd storming of Monohur stockades and Fort, 25th January 1845, it which place this Detachment formed the
storming party, and suffered very seriously. Served with the 88th Regiment in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55,.
including the battles of Alma and Balaklava, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and attacks of the Redan on the i8th
June and 8th September (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
* Lt.Colonel Bennett served the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46 with the 9th Regiment, and has received the Medal
and two Clasps for the battles of Moodkee, Ferozeshah, and Sobraon. Served the Eastern campaign of 1854, and up
to 30th July 1S55, with the 44tU Regiment, including the battle of Alma and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two
Clasps, and Turkish Med.al).
* Major Brumell served as a Lieutenant in the 75th Regiment in the Kaffir war of 1834-36 (Medal).
' Lt.Colonel T. Cassidy served in the expedition to ihe Umzimkulu against the revolted Kaffir chief Todo in 1844;
also as a volunteer with the rank of Captain in the Cape Town Levies during the KatTlr war of 1851-52 (Medal).
Served in the Eastern campaign of 1854 ami up to the 6th July 1855 with the 21st Fusiliers, and was present at
the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and lukerman, an<i siege of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
