^'^ Colonel P. Johnston served m the New Zealand war of 1-545-46 (Medal) with the 99th Kegiment, and commanded
the Light Company at the storming of Kawiti's Pah at Ohaeawas on the ist July 1S45 (where he was slightly
wounded on the forehead), and destruction of the same on the loth July ; again at the destruction of Arratua's Pah
on i6th July; also at the destruction and capture of Kawiti's Pah at Ruapekapeka in January 1846.

topol and assault of the Redan on the tSth June (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served in the Aby.ssinian
campaign in 1867-68, and was present at the storming and capture of Magdala (mentioned in despatches '' for able
management of native carriage," Medal).
^'* Colonel J. W. H. Johnotone served in the Indian Mutiny campaign in 1S57-58, and was wounded at the attack
on Thanna Bawun m September 1S57 ; present with Seton's Column at the actions of Gungeree and Patialee, and
reoccupation of Mynpooree; also at the capture of the enemy's entrenched position at Bungaon in April 1858—
wounded (Medal).
^'5 Colonel C. JoUiBTe served with the R.M. Brigade in the Crimea in 1854, and in command of a Battery at Bala-
klava ; was attached to the Royal Artillery in the siege train before Sebastopol during the bombardments in 1855,
and at its fall; was also at the bombardment and surrender of Kinbourn (Medal with Clasp, Knight of the Legion
of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
"'t Colonel J. H. JoUiffe served on the China Expedition in 1842, and with the blockading force in the Baltic until
the declaration of peace in 1856.
^'^ Colonel C. N. Judge served with Havelock's Force in the actions on his advance to Lucknow; was present
throughout Outram's occupation of the Alumbagh; also throughout the siege and capture of Lucknuw (Medal
with two Clasps, and a year's service).
21' Colonel S. A. T. Judge served in Burmah in 1852-53 (Medal with Clasp for Pegu). Present with the Agra
Militia Cavalry at Agra on the 4th July 1857, when the Kotah Contingent mutinied and the guns of the Contingent
and all the ammunition and baggage were retaken from them; also present at the action of the following day (Medal).
2's Colonel W. T. Keays served in the Abyssinian war in 1867-68 (Medal).
'isf Colonel W. H. B. Kingsley served with the 67th Regiment throughout the campaign of i860 in China, including
the action of Siuho, taking of Tangku, and severely wounded in the leg at the storming of the inner Taku Fort; also
present at the surrender of Pekin (Medal with two Clasps). Served with the 67th Regiment throughout the Afghan
war of 1S78-80, and was present in the engagement at Charasiab on the 6th October 1879, and in the operations around
Cabul in December 1879, including the investment of Sherpore (twice mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Lt.Colonel,
Medal with two Clasps). Served with the Burmese Expedition in 1885-S7, and commanded the 2nd Battalion of the
Hamnshire Regiment after the occupation of Mandalay (mentioned in despatches, CB., and Medal with Clasp).
