" Captain Denne served in the Egyptian warof 1882 with the ist Battalion Gordon Highlanders, and was present
»t the battle ofTel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star); also served in the Soudan Expedition in 1884
as Transport Officer with the ist Battalion Gordon Highlanders, and was present in the engagements at El Teb
kdA Temai (two Clasps). Served in the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 with the ist Battalion Gordon Highlanders and
with the River Column under Major General Earle (Clasp).
* Captain Staunton served in the Afghan war in 1880, and accompanied Sir Frederick Roberts in the march to
Candahar, and was present at the reconnaissance of 31st August and at the battle of Candahar (Medal with Clasp,
and Bronze Decoration). Served in the Boer war of 1881.
*' Captain H. K. Stewartserved in the Egyptian war of 1882 with the ist Battalion of the Gordon Highlanders,
and was present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star); also served in the Soudan
Expedition in 1S84 as Orderly Officer to Sir Redvers BuUer, and was present in the engagements at El Teb and
Temai (two Clasps). Served with the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 with the Mounted Infantry, took part in the
operations of the Desert Column, was present in the actions at Abu Klea and Abu Kru, in the reconnaissance of
Metatnmeh, and in the engagement at Abu Klea Wells on the 19th February (two Clasps, and 4th Class of the
Medjidie).
" Captain Miller-'Wannutt served in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir
(Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star) ; also served in the Soudan Expedition under Sir Gerald Graham in 1884,
and was present in the engaf,-ements at El Teb and Temai (two Clasps). Served in the Nile Expedition in 1884-85
with the ist Battalion Gordon Highlanders and with the River Column under Major General Earle (Clasp).

in the Soudan in 1889 including the action of Toski (4th Class of the Medjidie, Clasp); and in the operations in
1891 including the capture of Tokar (4th Class of the Osmanieh).
