' Sir Charles Fraser served as Orderly Officer to Brigadier Campbell at the a.Tair of Munsealn near
Allahabad, on the sth Jan. 185S. and subsequently with the 7th Hussars in the Indian mutiny caiBpaign irum Feb.
to July 1858, and from Dec. 1658 to March 1859, and was present at the affair of Meenguuge, siege and capture of
Lucknow, affairs of Barree and Sirsee (horse wounded), action of Nawaljgunge (severely wounded whilst leading
a squfidron against a body of Gazzie fanatics, mentioned 111 Sir Hope Grant's despatch for " most conspicuous
gallantry," Brevet of Major), throughout the Trans-Gogra campaign, including the ailair near Churda and pursuit,
taking the fort of Mecjedia, attack on Baukee with pursuit to tae Raptee, advance into Nepaul and aft'air at
ditkaghat (Victoria Cross, Medal with Clasp): received the Uffi " for conspicuous and cool gallantry, on the 31st
December 1858, in having volunteered, at great personal risk, and under a sharp fire of musketry, to swim to the:
rescue of Captain Stisted and some men of the 7th Hussars, who were in imminent danger of being drowned in tb&
River Raptee, while in pursuit of the robe's. Major Frasor succeeded in this gallant service, although at the timo
partially disabled, not havingrecovered from a severe wound received while leading a Squadronina charge against
some fanatics in the action of Nawabgunge, on the 13th June 1858." Served in the Abyssinian campaign in 1868 asi
Commandant at Head Quarters, and in charge of the outposts, and was present at the action of Arogee and caijture
of Magdala (mentioned in despatches •' for unceasing vigilance," CB. and Medal). [See also Civil Decorations for

" Colonel St. Quintin served with the loth Hussars in the Afghan war in 1878-79, and was present at the attack
and capture of All Musiid, and in the engagement at Futtehabad as Orderly Officer to Brigadier General G. Gougli
(mentioned in despatches. Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).
^ Major Davidson served in the Egyptian war of ^882 with the 13th Bengal Lancers, and was presentat the action
at Kassasin (gth September) and at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (.Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
f Major Clowes served with the Sth Hussars in the Afghan war in 1879-80 including tne engagement at jiareona.
