"* Doctor Blake served with the 98th Regiment in China (Medal), and was present at the storm and capture of
Chin Kiang Foo. Served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, the siege of
Sebastopol, and repulse of the sortie on 26th Oct. 1854 (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
'5-Mr. Blenkins served with the Grenadier Guards in the Crimean campaign from 20th Bee. 1854, including the
siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, sth t.'lass of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
''= Doctor Boyes served as Surgeon of the ist Battalion 60th Rifles in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, and was^
present during the second siege operations at Mooltan and capture of that fortress, battle of Goojerat, pursuit of
the Sikh Army until its final surrender at Rawul Pindee, the occupation of Attock and Peshawur, and expulsion of
the Affghau Force beyond the KhyVjer Pa ss (Medal with two Clasps).
"' Doctor Cameron served in Bengal during the mutiny as Surgeon 37th Regiment (Medal).
■' Mr. Cowan served with the iStii Royal Irish in China (Medal), and was present during the operations against
Canton, and the attack and capture of Chapoo, Shanghai, Woosung, and Chin Kiang Foo. Served also in the Pun¬
jaub campaign of 184S-49 (Medal).
"*" Mr. De Lisle served with the 4th Regiment throughout the Eastern campaign of L854-55, including the battles
of Alma and lukerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and
Turkish MedalV
s^ Doctor R. bomenichetti served on the Staff of General Havelock on his first taking the field in 1857, and was
present in the actions of Fnttehpore, Aoung, Pandoo Xnddee, Cawnpore, Buseerutgunge, Bitiioor, and Alumhagh,
also the defence of th e Alumbagh (thanked by the President of the Council of India.). Served with the 75th Regiment
before Lucknow under General Outram in two attacks upon his position (Medal with Clasp).
'^ Doctor H. Dowues served in the Crimea from the 20th Nov. 1854, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol
(Medal with Clasp, Turkish Medal, and 5th Class of the Medjidic).
"' Doctor U. W.Evans served as a volunteer (his Regiment, the i6th Lancers, being at home) from the commence¬
ment of the wjir in Russia until promoted in December 1854, including the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inker-
man, and in the Trenches before Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
*'> Doctor Galbraith served with the 99th Regiment in the New Zealand war (Medal), and was present at Ohaeawi
and Ruapekapoka. He was the Senior Medical Officer present during the greater part of the operations in the
southern district of New Zealand ; at several skirmishes in the Valley of the Hutt; also at the Horokiwi on the 6th
Aug. 1846. Served with the expeditionaiy force in the North of China in 1S60 (Me<lal).
*' Mr. Graves served with the 4th Light Dragoons during the campaign in Afl'ghanistan under Lord Kcane, and
was present at the siege and capture of Ghuznee (Medal). Served also in the Crimea, with the 6Sth Regiment in
1854-55,and was present at the battle of Inkerman and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps,and Turkish Medal).
^'^ Doctor G. K. Hardie served with the 53rd Regiment in the Punjaub campaign in 1849, ^ii'l was present at the
battle of Goojerat (Medal with Clasp).
*^ Mr. Howard served with the 20th Regiment throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles
of Alma and Inkerman, siege of Sebastopol, and assault of the 8th September (Medal with three Clasps, 5th Class
of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Served in the Indian campaign of 1857-5S, including the actions of Chanda,
TJmeerpore, and Sultanpore, siege and capture of Lucknow (Medal with Clasp).
''^ Mr. VV". F. T. Ive.y served with the Army in Turkey and Bulgaria in 1854, and in the Crimea in the 31st
Regiment in 1855, including the siege of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
'' Mr. Jee served in the Persian war in 1857,including the night attackandb.attleofKooshab,and bombardment
of Mohumrah (Medal with Clasp). Served with Havelock's C^olumn in the several actions leading to and ending in
the relief of the Residenc.y of Lucknow and subsequent defence; with Outra.m's force at Alumbagh, including the
repulse of the numerous attacks, and operations ending in the final capture of Lucknow; present witli Brigadier
Campbell's Column in the affairs of 20th and 21st March; also the Rohilcund campaign in 1858 and capture of
Bareilly (Medal with Clasp, Cll., Victoria Cross, and a year's service for Lucknow).
^^ Doctor Jopp served with the Queen's Royals during the campaign of 1844-45 in the Southern Concan and Sawant
Warree country, including the storming of several stockades, and the investment and capture of the Forts of
Mouohur and Munsuntosh.
'J* Mr. Laing served the campaign under Sir Charles Napier against the mountain and robber tribes situated on
the right bank of the Indus early in 1845. Served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 (Medal with Clasp). Joined
the 23rd Fusiliers in Bundlecund in Jan. 1858, and served in the operations across the Goomtee, at the siege and
capture of Lucknow and Trans-Gogra oiierations (Medal with Clasp).
95 Doctor M■\\^larrie was present with the 59th Regiment at the operations before and capture of Canton in 1857
(Medal v,'ith Clasp).
36 Mr. Mockler served with the loth Regiment in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the latter part of
the siege operations before Mooltan, the surrender of that fortress, and battle of Goqjerat (Med.al with two Clasps)..
"^ Doctor Moorhead sei'ved with the 32ud Regiment at the first and second siege operations before Mooltan, includ¬
ing the capture of the city anu surrender of the fortress (Medal with Clasp).
98 Doctor B. Nicholson served as Staff Assistant Surgeon in the Kaffir war of 1847-48 ; with the 60th Rifles in the
Kaffir war of 1851-53 (Medal); and as Staff Surgeon in the campaign of i860 in Noi'th China in charge of one of the
two General Field Hospitals (Medal). Also in the New Zealand war in charge of the General Field Hospitals,
Wafkato and "Wanganui, in 1864-66 (Medal).
100 Mr. T. Parr served with the 55th Regiment on the Bhootan expedition, including the recaptui-e of Dewangiri
in 1865.
101 Mr. E. S. Protheroe served with the Royal Artillery in the Crimean campaign from the 30th Oct. 1854, including
the battle of Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, and Tmkish Medal).
10' Doctor J. Rambaut was present at the defeat of the insurgents at Matole on the 29th July, during the suppres¬
sion of the rebellion in the Kandian Provinces in Ceylon in 1848.
'-»* Doctor Sail served in the Kaffir war of 1852-53 (Medal).
1"^ Mr. G. Saunders served in medical charge of the 47th Regiment the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including
the battles of Alma. Inkermnn, capture of Balaklava, siege of Sebastopol, and sortie on the 26th Oct. (Medal with
three Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Was Senior Medical Officer at Hong Kong during the epidemic of fever in
1865 (mentioned in despatches, CB.).
""i Doctor Seaman served in the Crimean camp.sign as Surgeon of the 72nd Highlanders from 28th May 1855, in¬
cluding the expedition to Kertch, siege and fall of Sebastoi)ol, and attack of the i8th June (Medal with Clasp, and
Turk sh Medal). Also in the same capacity in the Indian campaigns in 1858-59, including the siege and capture of
Kotah, being present with the leading Column of assault on the 30th March 1858 ; and subsequently throughout the
operations in Central India and pursuit of Tantia Tojiee ,and Rao Sahib in 1858-59 (Modal with Clasp).
"" Doctor Swettenham served with Havelock's Column in the action of Mungarwar, attack and capture of the
■ Alumbagh, assault and relief of the Residency of Lucknow and its Bubsequent defence (wounded—gi'ant of a year's
service) ; present with Outram's Division throughout the occupation of the Alumbagh and the sorties thence, also at
the capture of Lucknow by Lord Clj^de, the subsequent campaign in Oude, including the action of Buxar Ghat,
Doondiakera, and other minor affairs (Medal with two Clasps).
110 Mr. Waring served in the Kaffir war of 1847 (Medal).
m Doctor A. L. Adams served in Medical Charge of the detachment of the 22nd Regiment with the expeditionary
force under Sir Sydney Cotton in 1854 against the Mohmund Triljes on the Peshawur frontier (Medal with C!lasp).
'13 Mr. R. P. Andrews served with the ist Dragoon Guards in the Crimea from Aug. 1855, including the battle of
the Tchernayaand siege of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served with the 2nd Dragoon
Guards in the Indian campaign in 1858-59, including the siege and capture of Lucknow, and actions of Koorsee
and Nawabgungee, Trans-Gogra afikirs at Bungaon (Medal with Clasp).
11* Mr. G. B. F. Arden served with the 12th Regiment in the New Zealand war from July 1863 to June 1866
(Medal).
"5 Doctor L. Armstrong served throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the reconnaissance on
the Danube nnder Lord Cardigan, affair of Bulganac, battles of Alma, Balaklava, Inkerman, and Tchernaya, and
siege of Sebastopol; also present with the Light Cavalry Brigade at Eupatoria (Medal with four Clasps, and
Turkish Medal).
