jiiratical vessels in its harbour, in i8a8-2q (Medal). Served as Adjutant of the 6th Regt. in the Kaffir war of 1850-53
(Medal).
"" Major Little served in the China expedition of 1857-59, including the operations at Ca,nton, with the storming
and capture of the city (Medal with Clasp). Accompanied the expedition to the North in i860, and served at
Shanghai diu-ing the attacks of the Rebel Army in August.
*2 Major H Lowrey served as Adjutant to the Wing of his Regiment while emp'oved in the expedition against
the King of Baddiboo, up the River Gambia; was present at the bombdrdment of the enemy's entrrnched works
on the b inl<s of the Swarracunda Creek on the i6th Feb.; also at the storming capture and destruction of the
fortifleil tovTOs of Curawan on the 17th, Kinty Cunda and .*nba on the iSt'i, and the battle of Saba, and storming
capture and total destruction of the enemy's s ockades on the 21st Feb. 1861.
'" Major G.M'Callura was present at the attack on the outer batteries of the harbours of Petropaulovski, 31st
August; landed 4th Sept. at an attack on the same batteries, and succeeded to the command of the Royal Marines
on the death of Captain Parker, and was wounded in the head; was at the capture of two Russian vessels on the
7th Sept. 1854. Served with the China expedition of 1857-58, and commanded a Division of the Royal Marines of the
fleet at the attack and capture of the Forts at the mouth of the Peiho river on 20th May—mentioned in despatches
(Medal with Clasp).
'" Major J. M'Lerion served in the Crimean campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of Inkerman, siege and fall
of Sebiistopol Medal with two Clasps, and Turkish Medal).

8' Major J. K. Mackenzie served the Kaffir Campaign of 1851-52, as Captain 2nd Battalion 60th Rifles, and was
present at the forcing of the Kei with Colonel E,\ re's Division (Modal).
*' Major John Miller served at the battle of Navarino in 1827. Also with the R.M. Battalion in Portugal in 1835.
Commanded a Company during the operations on the coast of Syria in 1840 (Medal), and was with the battalion at
D'Jouni Sustained a severe fracture of the right leg in the service (War Medal with two Clasps).
'" Major William Miller served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 vrith the Scots Grej-s, including the affair of
M'Kenzio's Farm, battles of Balaklava and lukerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, and
Turkish Medal).
52 .'vlajor G Montgomery served in the Crimean campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of Inkerman and siege
of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
^ Major Murohison served in the 29th Kegt. in the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46,inchiding the battles of Ferozcshah
and Sobraon, in the last of which he was wounded (Medal and Clasp). Also in the Punjaub campaign in 1849, in¬
cluding the passage of the Chenab, and battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps).

89 M.ijOr C. K. Nettles served with the 3rd Hussars throughout the Punjaub campaign of 1848-40, and was
present at. t' e actions of Ramnuggur and Sadoolapore, and with the Grey Squadron in the charge at Chillian-
waiiah (Medal with Clasp).
"" Major Onslow was at the storming of Sidon in S,\ria (War Modal with one Clasp, and Turkish Modal).
102 Major Owen was employed during 1855 and part of 1856 with the Turkish Contingent under Lieut.General
Vivian in Turkey and the Crimea, and has received the Order of the 4th Class of the Modjidie. Commanded a detach¬
ment of the 28th Madras Native Infan'ry in the suppression of the Indian Mutiny in the Jubbulpore district in 1858.
'"^ Major Parish has received the Medal for the Puiijaub campaign of 1846.
i" Major Thomas Park was actively employed in the Baltic during 1810, 1811, and 1812. From 1813 until the
peace served on the coast of America and the West Indies, including the attack on Cranie Island, and landed at the
taking t)f Hampton, in the Chesapeake.
1"^ Major J. H P;iri-y served with the Battalion sent out for service in Japan in 1864-60. and was present at the
bombardment of the batteries at the Straits of Rimonosaki, the entT'ance of the inland sea of Japan, the assault
capture and destruction of the flvo batteries, stockade, magazines, and barracks, and during the shore operations
from the 5th to ttie 8th Sept. 1864.
""' Major Pengelley served with the expedition to the Baltic in 1855 (Medal). He has also the Silver Medal from
the Royal Humane Society.
'"8 Miijor Pleydell served the Syrian campaign of 1840—at D'Jouni, the stoiining of Sidon, and bombardment of
Acre (War Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served also with the Baltic Expeditions in 1854 and 1855(Medal).
"» Sir Rose Lambart Price was present at the storming of Canton in December 1857, also at the attack on the
Peiho Forts in June 1059 (wounded), went with the Battalion under Colonel Gascoigne to tlie North of China in
i860, and was present at the action of Sinho, taking of Tangku capture of Taku Forts, affairs of the 21st and
23rd Sep'ember, and .surrender of Pekin (Medal with tliree Clasps).
I'l Major VV. M. Pritchett served on the China expedi'ion of 1857 59, influ'ling the blockade of the Canton river,
the landing liefore storm and capture of the ci'y (Medal with Clasp). Served also with the expedition to the North
in i860, and in command of the Police Force at Shanghai during the atmckr- by the rebels.
i'2 Major J. Ramsay served in the Crimean campaign in 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol—twice
wounded (Merial with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
"3 Major F. Ranee served with the 28th Regiment throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles
of Alma M nd Inkerma,u, in the Trenches at the siege and fall of Sebastopol, and assault of the i8th June (Medal with
three Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
"* Majnr B. Relf served with the loth Hussars in the Crimean campagn from the 17th April 1855. including the
capture of Tchorgaum, batrla of the Tohemaya, Expedition to Kertch, and destruction of and affairs at Taman
