' Sir Edward Green served against the Khosas on the Runn of Kutch in 1830, and in a charge with a party of the
2nd Light Cavalry had a horse shot under him. Served with the field force in Sind and Afifghanistan from 1840 to
1843; present with the Light Company of the 22nd Foot at the defence of the Residency at Hyderabad under Sir
James Outram, and at the battle of Hyderabad (Medal, and Brevet of Major, and CB.); also as Assistant Adjutant
General with Sir Charles Napier in the campaign against the Hill Tribes in Kutch in 1844-45; ^'Hd 8.8 Assistant
Adjutant General with the Bombay Column in the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the siege and surrender
of Mooltan, battle of Goojerat, pursuit and surrender of the Sikh army (Medal with two Clasps).
* General H. J. Polly served in Sind from 1840 to 1847, and was on the staif of Sir Charles Napier at the battles
of Meeaneo and Hyderabad, and in the campaign against the Mountain and Desert Tribes (Medal, and Brevet
of Major).
° Generiil R. R. Younghusband served with the Field Force in Sind and Affghanistan in 1841-42; present
with the Light Battalion in the advance on Kandahar; and in 1843, as Major of Brigade to the force, was present
at the battles of Meeanee and Hyderabad (Medal). Served as Deputy Adjutant General to the Persian Expeditionary
Force in 1856-57, and was present at the landing at Hallilah Bay, at the storm and capture of Reshire, the sur¬
render of Bushire, and during the forced march on Borazjoon, the occupation of the enemy's entrenched camp, and
the night attack and battle of Khooshab (Medal with Clnsp, and CB.).
^ Sir George Malcolm served as Deputy Assistant Commissary General and Baggage Master with the
Bombay Division of the Army of the Indus in the campaign of Affghanistan in 1838-39, and was present at the
capture of Ghuznec (^Mcdal) and occuijation of Cabool; commanded the outposts of the Sind Irregular Horse in
Eastern Kutchee from 1840 to 1842 and was constantly engaged in active operations against the Hill Beloochees,
commanded a detachment of Sind Irregular Horse at the battle of Nuflfoosk 31st August 1S40 in the Eastern Kutchee
Hills, and with the Sind Horse in the operations against Nussur Khan of Khelat in 1840-41, including the affair at
Kunda and the action near Dadur, when Mir Nussur Khan with the whole of the Brahoere artny was drawn from
his position and his camp taken. Served with the Siiid Horse at Shadadpoor in 1843 when the force under Captain
Jacob defeated the army of Meer Shah Mahomed at Shadadpoor. Served with the Sind Horse during Sir Charles
Napier's campaign 1111844-45 against the mountain tribes in Eastern Kutchee and in the surprise and capture of
Kirkee and Yarauda. - Oft'g. at Poona.
