158 Sir Stanley de A. C. Clarke served with the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 in command of the Light Camel
Regiment, and took part in the operations of the Desert Column, including the engagement at Abu Klea Wells on
tthe 16th and 17th February (mentioned in despatches, CMG., and Medal with Clasp).

Valley ( CB., Brevet of Lt.Colonel, and Medal).

Medal, and Brevet of Major).
173 Major General W. W. Corban served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battles of Alma and
Inkerman, siege of Sebastopol, and sortie of 26th October (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Com-
manded the 1st Battalion Berkshire Regiment throughout the Egyptian war of r882, and was present at the
•surrender of Kafr Dowar (Medal, 3rd Class of the Medjidie, and Khedive's Star).
174 Major General W. T. Corrie served in the Afghan war in 1879-80 in command of the 2nd Battalion nth Foot,
;and took part in the march to Candahar with the force under Major General Pbayre (mentioned in despatches.

177 Major General L. S. Cotton served in the Indian Mutiny campaign in 1858-59 as Aide de Camp to the General
'Officer commanding the Frontier Field Force at Peshawur (Medal with Clasp).
W8 Major General H. R. Courtenay served in the Sutlej campaign in 1846, and was slightly wounded at the
battle of Sobraon (Medal). Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the passage of the Chenab at Ramnuggur,
and battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps).
179 Major General E. H. Courtney served with the expeditionary force in China in 1858-62, and was present at the
action of Sheksing with the Kwantung rebels on the 8th Jan. 1859. Accompanied the naval forces under Sir Michael
Seymour to the Peiho river in May 1858, and was engaged in the demolition of the forts at its mouth. Served
throughout the campaign of i860 in North China as Acting Adjutant to the combined force of Royal Engineers and
Madras Sappers, and was present at the actions of Sinho and Tanku, siege and capture of the Taku forts (mentioned
an despatches), and surrender of Pekin (Medal with two Clasps, CB.).
181 Major General C. V. Cox served the Gwalior campaign of 1843-44 and battle of Punniar (Bronze Star). Sutlej
campaignof 1845-46, including the battles of Moodkee (wounded), Ferozeshah, and Sobraon (Medal and two Clasps).
Punjaub campaign of 184S-49 as Brigade Major of Horse Artillery, including the passage of the Cheenab and
battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat (mentioned in despatches, Medal with two Clasps, and Brevet of Major).

182 Major General C. W. Cox served in the Burmese war in 1852-53, and was present at the retaking of Beeling

183 Major General F. E. Cox served in the Indian Mutiny campaign, including the siege and capture of Lucknow,
campaign in Rohilcund and battle of Bareilly as Adjutant of Royal Engineers (Medal with Clasp, and Brevet of Major 1.
185 Major C'en3ralB.Cracroft served throughout the Sonthal campaign of 1855-56 and was slightly wounaed. Served
also in the Central Indian campaign with the force under General Whitlock and was present at the attack and
ccapture of Punwarree Heights near Kirwee on 29th Dec. 1858 (mentioned in despatches, Medal). Served in the
Afghan war in 1879-80, accompanied Sir Frederick Roberts in the march to Candahar, and was present at the
■battle of Candahar (mentioned in despatches, Medal with Clasp, and Bronze Decoration).
185 Major General C. A. F. Creagh served with the 50th Regiment in the Crimea, subsequent to the fall of
.Sebastopol, from the t ith Sept. 1855 to the end of the Russian war. Also in the New Zealand wars from Nov.
1863 to 1866, and was present at the storm and capture of Rangiawhia with the storming party, repulse of the
enemy's attack on the Camp at Nukumaru (in command of a party of the 50th), the capture of the fortifitd
village of Ketemari and the Putahi Pah with the storming party (Medal). Served with a detachment of the
Soth Regiment in the Expedition to Perak under General Colborne in 1875-76 (Medal with Clasp). Served in the
Transvaal in the operations against Sekukuni in 1878. Served in the Zulu war of 1879, first in command of three
companies of the 80th Regiment, and afterwards as Commandant of the Leydenburg District, and commanded a
portion of colonial horse in pursuit of King Cetywayo in Zululand. Served subsequently in the Transvaal until
invalided, in the operations against Sekukuni in 1879, including the capture of that chief (Medal with Clasp).
Served with the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 in command of the 2nd Battalion of the South Staffordshire Regiment
< Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
187 Major General W. Creagh served throughout the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the siege and sur-
render of Mooltan, battle of Goojerat, pursuit and surrender of the Sikh army (Meual with two Clasps)
188 Major General F. R. C. Crofton served with the 9th Lancers in suppression 01 tbe Indian Mutiny in 1858-59,
and was present at the affair of Kumdakoti (Medal).
189 Major General T. C.Crowe served in the Persian campaign in 1857 (Medal with Clasp). Also the Indian Mutiny
campaign, including the siege and capture of Ratghur, action of Barodea, relief of Saugor, capture of Garrakata,
pursuit to Behra, forcing the Muddenpore Pass, advance on siege and capture of Jhansi, battle of the Betwa,
advance on Calpee, battle of Koonch, on Rear-Guard of 1st Brigaue Central India Field Force when our baggage
was attacked by the enemy's Cavalry, action of Deopora, battle of Galowlee, advance on and capture of Calpee,
pursuit to Suroeela, advance on Gwalior, battle of Morar, capture of Gwalior, final pursuit of the enemy and
battle of Jowra Alipore, subsequent operations in Bundlekund, including the taking of Garotha, and pursuit of
Feroze Shah (Medal with Clasp).
190 Major General C. E. Cumberland served in the Crimea from 13th Sept. 1855, and was employed in the demoli-
tion of the Docks of Sebastopol (Crimean and Turkish Medals). Served in the Indian campaign of 1857-59; was
Commanding Engineer at the siege and fall of Fort Ahwah, and present at the siege and capture of Kotah, con-
ducting the First Column at the assault (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).
