93 Lt. Colonel J. G. Crosbie served with tte 2nd Battalion 60th Rides in the Afghan war from June to September
880; accompanied Sir Frederick Roberts in the march to Candahar, and was present at the battle of Candahar
^Medal with Clasp, and Bronze Decoration). Served in the Soudan Expedition in 1^84 with the 3rd Battalion
King's Royal Rifle Corps, and was present in the engagement at El Teb and Temai (Medal with Clasp and
Khedive's Star).
91 Lt Colonel G. B. M.'L. Cumberland served with the 42nd Highlanders in the second phase of the Ashanti
war in 1874, and was severely wounded in the right arm at the battle of Amoafnl (Medal with Clasp). Served in
ithe Egyptian war in 18S2 as Assistant Provost Marshal 1st Division, and was present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir
—severely wounded (Medal with Clasp, and Khe live's Star',.
C5 Lt.Colonel A. J. C. Cunningham served as Assistant Field Engineer in the Bhootan Field Force in 1865-66

96 Lt.Colonel C. Cunningham served in the Abyssinian campaign in 1868 as Acting Quarter Master on detached
duty at Amtalo, superintending works in that division with Madras Sappers (Medal).
97 Lt.Colonel Micharl Curry served in the mutiny in India in 1857-58* and was present when the Sist Regiment,
under Colonel Rennv, with two trjops of the Bengal Horse Artillery, disarmed at Mean Meer one Regiment of
Native Cavalry and three Regiments of Native Infantry, all disaffected and ripe for mutiny •, Medal). Served with
the Ensoolzee Expedition in 1858 (Medal).
98 Lt. Colonel H. M. Dale served with the Burmese Expedition in 1885-S6 (Medal with Clasp).
99 Lt.Colonel K. S. Darnell served in the Burmese war of 1852-53, including the capture of Pegu in November, its
■defence from 5th to 14th Dec. 1852, and at the subsequent operations in that vicinity. Served with the Madras
Sappers and Miners during the remainder of the war, and accompanied Sir J. Cheape's expedition to Meeady (Medal
with Clasp for Pe<ru). Also served in the suppression of the mutiny in Bengal from Feb. 185S, including the occu-
pation of the Alumbagh under Outram, the capture of Lucknow. campaign n Oude in 1858, passage of the Goomtee
at Sultanpore, and other minor affairs, also at Shahpore, and at the Fort of Koiii (Medal with Clasp).
"t Lt.Colonel R. Davies served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the nth Hussars, including the affairs of
Bulganak and M'Keuzie's Farm, battles of Alma, Balaklava (wounded and horse shot), and Tchornaya, siege and
fall of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, also the Sardinian and Turkish Medals).
100 Lt.Colonel P. R.DeBude served in the Punjaub campaign of 1848 -49, including the siege of Mooltan and battle of
Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps). Served in the Indian Mutiny campaign in command of the Artillery of Major
Crawford Chamberlain's Column (Medal). Commanded a Mountain Train Battery throughout the operationsof the
■expedition of 1863 against the tribes on the North-West Frontier of India, and was present at the storming of
Laloo and capture of Umbeyla (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).

Eusofzie district with Brigadier Bradshaw's Force in 1840; and with Sir Charles Napier's Force at the forcing 0}

lu3 Lt.Colonel de Longueville served throughout the Indian mutiny campaign with a light held battery, and was
present at the actions of Agra (horse shot) and Allyghur— severely wounded (Medal) . Served as Aide de Camp to
General Showers throughout the operations in theCossea and Jyritea Hill (mentioned in despatches). Served in the
Indian N.W. Frantier war of 1863, and was present at the storm and capture of the Crag Piquet (Medal with Clasp).
104 Lt.Colonel A. II. Des Barres served in the Egyptian war of 1882', and was present in the engagements at
Malaha Junction. El Magi'ar, Tel-el-Mahuta and Mahsama, in the two actions at Kassasin, and at the battle of
Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, 4th Class of ihe Mediidie, and tvhedive's Star).
100 Lt.Colorel W. )■;. Despard served throughout the Ashauti war from the oth June 1873. Was attached to the
42nd Highlanders as Transport Officer, and was present at the battle of Amoaful, battle of Ordahsu and
■capture ol Coomassie (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).
100 Lt.Colonel W. Dickinson served throughout the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, and was present at the siege
and surrender of Mooltan, battle of Goojerat, pursuit and surrender of the Seikh army (Medal with two Clasps).
Served with the 1st Sind Irregular Horse during the Persian expedition in 1857, and was present at the siege and
■capture of the Fort of Awah (Medal with Claspj. Was detached in command of a Squadron of the 3rd Sind Horse
to Rajpootana in March 1859; employed against the Marree Tribe in 1859 (thanked by the GovemorGeneral) .
Was detached in command of a Squadron of Sind Horse to the Nuggur ParKur Field Force from July to December
1859. Served with the Expedition to Abyssinia in 1867-68, including the operatious against Magdala (Medal).
107 Lt.Colonel G. M. Dobbin served throughout the Burmese war of 1852-53, including the operations resulting
in the capture of Rangoon, and served with the expedition to Donabew in Feb. and March 1853 (mentioned in
despatches, Mede.l with Clasp for Pegu). Proceeded with the Force to occupy the Fort of Phillour on the outbreak
■of the mutiny in May 1857, and officiated as Deputy Commissary of Ordnance in charge of the Magazine through-
out the mutiny (mentioned in the Governor General's minute of 2nd July 1S59, arK ' received a letter from the
Secretary of State for India conveying Her Majesty's approbation of his conduct during the mutiny).

bombardment of Sweaborg and several minor engagements (mentioned in despatches, Victoria Cross, and Medal) ;
was awarded the UiE for the following service:— ■• An explosion having occurred in one of the rocket-boats of the
Arrogunt during an attack on the forts near Viborg, Lieutenant Dowell (who was on board the Ruby gunboat while
his own boat was receiving a supply of rockets) was the first to jump into the quarter boat of the Ruby, and with
three volunteers, himself pulling the stroke oar, proceeded instantly, under a heavy Are of grape and musketry, to
the assistance of the cutter's crew. The Russians endeavoured to prevent his object of saving the men and boat,
but Lieutenant Dowell succeeded in taking up three of the boat's crew, and placing them on board the Ruby, and on
his returning to the spot was mainly instrumental in keeping afloat and bringing off the sinking cutter."
112 Lt.ColonelE. C. L. Durnford served with the R.M. Battalion at the operations against and surrender of the forts
of Bomarsund in Aug. 1S54, the latter part of the time doing duty as Assistant Engineer. Served with the
Baltic Expedition in 1855, and was in command of a Mortar in the flotilla during the bombardment of Sweaborg
(Medal).
n -t Lt.Colonel F. W. Dtirrant served with the 33rd Regiment throughout the Abyssinian campaign of 1867-68,
and was present at the storming and capture of Magdala (Medal).
113 Lt.Colonel Dysart served in the 3rd Madras European Regiment with the Saugor field division in the Indian
mutiny campaign in 1858-59, and was present at the battle of Banda (Medal, and Brevet of Major) .
