■ 6 Lt.Colonel M. de S. M. K. G. A. Clarke served the Eastern campaign until severely wounded in the head and
taken prisoner in a sortie on the Trenches on the night of the 21st Dec. 1854 (mentioned in despatches, prisoner
of war until 19th Sept. 1855), having been present at the battles of Alma and Inkerman and siege of Sebastopol
(Medal with three Clasps, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 5th Class of the Medjidie). Served in New Zealand

/7 Lt.Colonel C. Coates served with the 99th Regiment in the Zulu war of 1879, and was present in the engage-
ment at Inyezane and in the advance to Ekowe (Medal with Clasp).
78 Lt.Colonel John Cobb served in the China Expedition of 1857-59, including the blockade of the Canton river,
storm and capture of the city. Served as Adjutant with the expedition to the north of China in i860, including the
action of Srnho, taking of Tongku, storm and capture of the North Taku Forts, and subsequent operations (Medal
with three Clasps).
n Lt.Colonel W. La T.Cockcraft served in the New Zealand war of 1863-64, was in command of the Royal Marines

Served with the 4th Bengal Irregular Cavalry during the campaign in Bundlecund under Brigadier General F.
Wheeler in 1859-60, and commanded the 1st Division Bundlecund Flying Column from April i860 to May 1861.
90 Lt.Colonel John Creagh served with the 5th Fusiliers throughout the Indian Mutiny campaigns of 1857-59,
and was present with Havelock's Force at the assault and relief of Lucknow, subsequent defence of the Residency,
occupation of the Alumbagh under Outram, capture of Lucknow and subsequent operations in Oude, the greater
part of the time as Adjutant of the 5th Fusiliers (Medal with two Clasps, and one year's service). Served in the
Afghan war of 1878-S0, and took part with the two expeditions into the Bazar Valley, with the Zaimusht Expedi-
tion as Superintendent of Army Signalling, and afterwards with the Khyber Line Force as Assistant Quarter
Master General (Medal) .
91 Lt.Colonel F. Creighton served in the Baltic in the latter part of 1855 (Medal).
