* 5 Major Colin Mackenzie served with the detachment of the 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders attached to
the ist Battalion Seaforth Highlanders in the Egyptian war of 1S82, and was present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir
(Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star). Served" with the Burmese Expedition in 1885-87, and again in 1887-89,
as Embarkation Officer at Mandalay, Transport Officer a.t Myingyan, and subsequently in command of a Com-
pany of Mounted Infantry (Medal with two Clasps). Served with the Hazara Expedition in 1888 as Adjutant of
the 2nd Battaiion Seaforth Highlanders (mentioned in despatches, Clasp) . Served in the operations against the
Hunza Nagars in 1891-92 as Deputy Assistant Quarter Master General, and was present at the capture of Hilt
Fort; commanded the force at the storming of the enemy's second position on 20th December 1892, and during
the subsequent advajca and occupation of Hunza and Nagar (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Clasp).
Served with the Waziristan Field Force under Sir William Lockhart in 1894-95 as Deputy Assistant Adjutant
General 2nd Brigade (mentioned in despatches, Clasp).

Latabaud, in the operations around Cabul in December 1879 including the relief of Sherpore, and in the engagemen
at Charasiah on the 25th April 1880; accompanied Sir Frederick Roberts iu the inarch toCandahar, and waspresen
at the battle of Candahar (Medal with four Clasps, and Bronze Decoration). Served in the Egypt ian war of 1882
