1 Sir Henry Oldham served in the China Expeditionary Force of i860, and was present in the actions of Sinho
and Tangku, assault and capture of the North Taku Fort, and surrender of Pekin (Medal with two Clasps). Served
in the Cossyah and Jynteah Hill campaign in 1863.
2 Major P. L. Tillbrook served with the 50th Regiment in the Crimea from the 22nd August 1S55, including the
siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
5 Captain Willan landed in the Crimea on 30th June 1855 with the 13th Light Infantry, and was present at the
battle of the Tchernaya, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
6 Captain Bourke served with the Cape Mounted Rifles in the Kaffir war of 1850-51 (Medal); and in 1852-53 in
the Orange River Territory, where he commanded several successful patrols.
7 Captain Wallack served with the 9th Regt. throughout the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46 and was present at the
battles of Moodkee, Ferozeshah, and Sobraon (Medal and two Clasps) .
8 Lt.Colonel Lowndes served with the 47th Regt. throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the
battles of Alma and Inkerman, capture of Balaklava, siege and fall of Sebastopol, sortie of 26th Oct., and storming
the Quarries on 7th June — severely wounded (Medal with three Clasps, Brevets of Major and Lt.Colonel, Knight of
the Legion of Honor, Sardinian aud Turkish Medals, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
9 Captain Clarke served with the 10th Hussars in the Crimean campaign from 17th April 1855, including the siege
and fall of Sebastopol, capture of Tchorgaum, battle of the Tchernaya where he commanded a squadron in support
of a troon of Horse Artillery, and an affair with the Cossacks near Kertch (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
12 Captain Cuninghame served with the 79th Highlanders in the Crimean campaign of 1854 up to 26th Nov., and
also from Jan. to 9th Feb. 1855, including the battles of Alma and Balaklava, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with
three Clasps, and Turkish Medal) .
13 Colonel Morrison was present when the batteries of Obligado in the River Parana were attacked and carried
20th Nov. 1845. Served on the China expedition ot 1857-59, including theblockade of the Canton river, thelandiDg
before, storm and capture of the city. Served as Provost Marshal to the expedition, and afterwards as D.A.A.
General to the Army in garrison at Canton (Brevet of Major). Served the campaign in the north of China in i860,
including the action of Sinho, taking of Tongoo, storm and capture of the North Takoo fort (mentioned in de-
spatches), and subsequent operations (Medal with three Clasps, and Brevet of Lt.Colonel).
14 Colonel Stewart served throughout the campaign in Syria in 1840, — at the Camp at D'Jouni as Acting Engineer
the storm and capture of Sidon, surrender of Beyrout, bombardment and capture of St. Jean d'Acre (War Medal
with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served also on the West Coast of Africa from 1841 to 1844 ; commanded a de-
tachment of Marines at, the destruction of severalBarracoonsini842 and liberated 1,200 slaves at Kabenda, Ambriz,
Black Point, Loango, Punta da Linha, 25 miles up the river Congo ; and a sacond time at Kabenda, three miles
inland, when he was attacked by a much superior force, and after liberating the slaves and destroying the barra-
coons effected a safe retreat to the beach with three men mortally wounded, closely pressed by a large force
of armed Africans (mentioned in despatches) . Served with the battalion of Royal Marines sent to Japan from 1864
to 1866, and was present at. the bombardment of the batteries at the Straits of Simonosnki, the entrance of the
inland sea of Japan, on the 5th and 6th Sent. 1864.
15 Lt.Colonel Sandeman served with the 1st Royal Dragoons in the Crimean campaign from the 6th Oct. 1854
and was present at the battles of Balaklava, Inkerman and Tchernaya, siege and fall of Sebastopcl (Medal with
three Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
17 Major Wyatt served with toe 14th Light Dragoons in the Persian expedition of 1857 (Medal with Clasp). Also
in the Central India Field Force under Sir Hugh Rose in 185E and was present at the siege and capture of Rahutghur,
action of Barodia, relief of Saugor, capture of Gurrakota, forcing the Muddunpore Pass, siege and capture of
Jhansi (Modal with Clasp).
