fortified towns of Carawan on the 17th, Kinty Cunda and Saba on the 18th, and the battle of Saba, and storming
capture and total destruction of the enemy's stockades en the 21st Feb. 1861.

expedition to the Soudan in 1885 with the 2nd Battalion of the East Surrey Regiment, and was present in the en-
gagement at Hasheen, at the attack on the convoy on the 26th March, and in the subsequent advance to Temai
(mentioned in despatches, Brevet of LtColoael, Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
