13 Captain P. D. Fitzgerald served in South African war in 1899-1900 as Adjutant to Imperial Light Horse from
Oct. 1899 to March 1900 ; took part in operations in Natal 1899, including actions at Rietfontein and Lombard's Kop ;
took part in the defence of Ladysmith, including sortie of 7th Dec. 1899, and action of 6th Jan. 1900 ; operations in
Natal March to June 1900, including actions at Laing's Nek; in the Transvaal, east of Pretoria, July to 29th Nov.
1900, including actions at Belfast and Lydenburg ; and in Orange River Colony May to 29th Nov. 1900 ; also served on
the Staff (three times mentioned in despatches, DSO., Medal with four Clasps).
17 CaDt. Rome served in the campaign on the North West Frontier of India in 1897-98 (Medal with Clasp). Served
in South African war in 1899-1901 on the Staff, afterwards as Adjutant to 1st Johannesburg Mounted Rifles.

21 Lieut. A. E. S. L< Paget served in South African war in 1899-1900 on the Staff, and took part in operations
in the Transvaal, east of Pretoria, July to Nov. 1900, including action at Rhenoster Kop ; in the Transvaal, west of
Pretoria, July to 29th Nov. 1900 ; and in Orange River Colony May to 29th Nov. 1900 (Medal with three Clasps).
