with the Mhow Column under Sir J. Michel, and present at the battle of Rajghur (Medal). Served with the 27th
Native Infantry throughout the Abyssinian campaign, and was present at the capture of Magdala (Medal). Served

November 1880 daring the occupation of Candahor, and as Brigade Major to Brigadier General Barter's Brigade,
and was present in the engagements at Ahmed Kheyl and Urzoonear Uhiizn»e (mentioned in desoatches), and 111
the subsequent operations in the Logar Vallev ; accompan ed Sir Frederick Roberts in the march to Caudahar
as Hrigade Major to Brigadier General M»cUrogor's Brig cde, and was present at the battle of Candahar (men-
tioned in despatches Brevet of Major, Medal with two Clasps, and Bronze Decoration). Also served as Brigade
Major to Brigadier General WacGregor in the viarri Expedition (mentioned in despatches). Served in the Boer
war of i38i with the 2nd Battalion King's Royal Rifles in the Natal Field Force. Served with the Manipore
Expedition in 1801 in commandof the 4th Battalion King's Roval Rifles (mentioned in des Matches Medal with Clasp).
102 Colonel H. B. Chalmers served as Principal Executive Officer at Agra during the mutiny in 1857-58, and was
slightly wounded at the battle of Agra on 5th July 1857 (Medal).

Eraser was wounded. crossed the ditch at the head of the Regiment, and was severely wounded in planting the Colour
on the cavalier at a very early period and before the Fort surrendered (Medal with two Clasps, and Victoria Cross) ;
received the I'd " for distinguished gallantry at the North Taku Fort (Cnina). This Officer was carrying the
Queen's Colour of the Regiment, and first planted the Colours on the breach made by the storming party, assisted
