74 Colonel P. A. Brown served in the Burmese war of 1852-53, including the capture of Pegu and its subsequent
defence (wounded), and was brought to the notice of the Governor General for able conduct when in command of a
Picket during the siege ; also present at the attack on Gongoo and in other minor affairs, and commanded the De-
tachment which engaged the enemy on 31st Jan. 1854 (Medal with Clasp for Pegu). Persian campaign in 1857, and
commanded Sappers at the bombardment and capture of Mohumrah and subsequent pursuit (Medal with Clasp).
Served in the Indian mutiny campaign of 1857-58 in command of Madras Sappers, including relief of Amngabad
and Mhow. siege and capture of Dhar, the several actions before Mundesore, Gooravia, rehef of Neemuch, disarming
of Holkar's Troops at Indore, siege and capture of Ratghur, siege and capture of Gurrakotah, forcing pass into
Sunilecund (with Advance Guard 1, battle of Muddenpore, siege and capture of the Fort of Jhansi, including the
battle of Baitwa and taking the town by escalade— commanded and led the ladder-party of right-centre attack ;
action of Koonch, Gagortee, when attacked, capture of town and Fort of Calpee (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp.
75 Colonel W. T. Brown served as Staff Officer to the held force under Brigadier General Staveley against
the Taepings near Shanghai ; present at the attack and capture of the entrenched camp at Wang-Ka,za 4th April
1862, and of the town of Tseerpoo 17th April 1862 ; at the reconnaissance of Nazeau on 27 th April 1862 (dangerously
wounded, Medal).
7 H Colonel E. C. Browne served with the Royal Scots Fusiliers in the Zulu war of 1S79 (mentioned in despatches,
Medal with Clasp). Served in the Boer war in 1881 as Assistant Director of Transport with the .Natal Field Force.

77 Colonel Montague Browne served with the 98th Regiment in the Punjaub campaign of 184S-49 (Medal).

S.ddabad and the relief of Sherpore (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Burmese Expedition in 1887-89 with the
2nd Battalion Norfolk Regiment (Medal with Clasp).
79 Colonel W. B. Burton served in the Abyssinian war in 1868 (Medal).
80 Colonel W. E. Burton served in the Indian Mutiny campaign of 1S57-58. and was present at the relief of
Lucknow by Lord Clyde (horse shot), at the occupation of the Alumbagh by Outram's Force, and at the siege and
capture of Lui-know (Medal with two Clasps, and one year'sextraservice).
81 Colonel Burton- Brown, as a volunteer on board H. M.S. Kestrel in September 1879, took part in the attack
find destruction of the pirate stronghold of Terebus, on the coast of Borneo, and was present at the capture and
burning of the piratical boats and prahus, and received the thanks of the Sultan for these services.
83 Colonel J F. Caldwell served in the Kafir war in 1877-78, and was present in the operations against the
Gaikas including the engagement in the Perie Bush (Medal with Clasp).
85 Colonel A. S. Cameron served with the 72nd Highlanders in the Crimea from 13th June iSss, including the
expedition to Kertch. siege and fall of Sebastopol, and attack of the 18th June (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish
Medal). From the 9th Oct. 1855 to the 8th March 1856 he served a3 Assistant Engineer to the Highland Division.
Served in the Indian campaign and received the Victoria Cross " for conspicuous bravery on the 30th March 185S
tit Kotah, in having headed a small party of men and attacked a body of armed fanatic rebels strongly posted in a
lcop-holed house with one narrow entrance; Lieutenant Cameron stormed the house and killed three rebels in
single combat; h» was severely wounded, having lost half of one hand by a stroke from a tulwar;" he also
received two bayonet wounds : was present in the actions of Bunass and Pertabghur, at which latter he commanded
two Companies of the 72nd, and was mo tioned in despatches (promoted to be Captain, Medal with Clasp).
86 Colonel A. Campbell served with the Royal Horse Artillery in the Afghan war in 1880, and took part in tho
operations in the Logar Valley (Medal)
87 Colonel A. M. Campbell commanded a Ressala of Pathan Horse during the mutiny in 1857-59 I assisted in the
suppression of the rebellion of the Jattribes of the Ranee in the Gogaria district in 1857 ; accompanied Brigadier
Franks' column in the advance on Lucknow, and present at the capture of the fort of Dhowrara ; also during the
operations before and capture of Lucknow by Lord Clyde; stationed at Oouao on the Lucknow and Cawnpore
road from April to November 1858 assisting to keep the road clear of the rebels, during which time he had frequent
skirmishes with the enemy; served with Colonel Kelly's Column in the operations on the Nepaul frontier in 1859 ;
and present at the attack on the rebel position in the hills near Bootwul (Medal with Cla<p). Served with the 3rd
I'unjaub Cavalry in the expedition under Brigadier General Chamberlain against the Mahsood Wuzecrees in i860,
mcluding^the repulse of the enemy's attack on them at Paloseen, and the forcing of the Barrarah Pass (Medal with
Clasp). Served in the Afghan war in 1880, accompanied Sir Frederick Roberts in the march to Candahar, and was
present at the battle of Candahar (mentioned in despatcnes, Medal with Clas-o, and Bronze Decoration). Also
served with the Marri Expedition.
88 Colonel A. D. Campbell serve/.! in the Zulu war in 1S79, and was present in the engagement at Ulundi
(Medal with Clasp). Served in the Soudan campaign in 1885 (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
89 Colonel C. C. Campbell served with the Burmese Expedition in 1885-86 in command of the expedition sent up
