in all barracks, &c. No trust to be given to soldiers unless
an officer holds himself responsible. Officers to certify
necessary repairs to the barrack-master. No women or

officers to search for offenders.

The laws against profanity are to be observed by the
army. Notice to be given against giving credit to soldiers.
Commanding officers to certify the condition of the bar¬
racks weekly to the barrack-master. Soldiers not to be
allowed to use their sheets for table-cloths and other pur¬
poses. No women or children to be allowed to lodge in
barracks. Officers commanding to give up offenders to the
civil power.

As twelve foot regiments are to be sent into Holland,
special care is to be taken to avoid desertion. All strag¬
gling soldiers, and all loose persons who cannot prove
that they are not soldiers are to be arrested, and notice
sent to the Chief Secretary. This to be published and
affixed.
