1. The orders of Thomas Proby, Chirurgeon-General
Superintendent to be obeyed by all persons. 2. A steward
to be appointed to keep the books, entering the admission
and dismissal or death of every soldier, and advancing them
one day's pay for every ten miles to quarters. 3. Army
chaplains to visit daily in turns. 4. Army chirurgeons to
visit daily in turn. A mate to lodge there. All the army
chirurgeons in Dublin to meet there weeklj'. 5. Five
nurses. 6. One porter. 7. Quarterly report to governors
and general officers. 8. Care of arms, accoutrements, &c.,
4s. to be allowed by regiment for each funeral. Pay-steward,

Cites proclamation 1 May 1699, No. 1394, q.v. Francis
Cromwell appointed agent. Cites proclamation 5 Oct. 1699,
No. 1406, q.v. Officers to send a quarterly certificate of non-
employment. Paul Augier of Dublin to act for Francis
Cromwell, Esq. Half-pay not to be paid unless the certificates
are sent in. Officers claiming arrears to send in an account
in writing to Paul Augier, Esq. This to be proclaimed.

Cites proclamation 12 Dec, No. 1427, q.v. Mr. Joseph
Boudre, clerk of Francis Cromwell, Esq., agent for pay¬
ment was unsatisfactory and has been superseded by Mr. Paul
Augier. All half-pay officers claiming arrears unpaid by
Boudre are to appear before the Lord Chief Baron of the
Exchequer, Mr. Justice Coote, and William Robinson, Esq.,
and satisfy them that the money is due, before 31 March
next. Claims not made out by then to fail. The next
receipt for half-pay is to include all arrears to date. This to
be proclaimed.

As many popish regular clergy are coming into the king¬
dom, and more frequent meetings than usual of the papists
are being held, all subjects of the Romish religion are to
deliver up all their arms before 12 March next. All licences
for arms are revoked, but gentlemen entitled to the privilege
may wear a sword. A receipt in writing is to be given, and
a return made to the Council. Mayors and Justices are
warned as to past remissness in making returns. The statute
of 7 Wm. Ill for disarming papists is to be strictly observed.

Many regular priests have returned, pretending to be
seculars. Every popish secular priest in the kingdom is
within 20 days to send to the High Sheriff his name and
sir-name, the place of habitation, and the parishes where
he officiates or serves, the barony and county, and how long
he has served it. He is to send in a like account on his
removal to any other place. The same is to be done in future
on any new priests entering on a parish. These returns to be
sent to Council on receipt, at latest by 22 April. The laws
as to regular priests, dignitaries, and returned Jacobites to
be enforced. £50 reward for a titular archbishop, bishop,
temporal peer, or general officer, £30 for a field-officer, £20
