Quotes proclamation 21 Jan., No. 1093, q.v. Certain con¬
cealments of forfeited goods and stock have occurred. Three
Commissioners of Revenue have been sent to Wexford,
Kilkenny, Waterford, Tipperary, Cork, Lymerick, Kerry,
Clare, King's County, Gallway, Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon,
Longford, and Leitrim, to inquire as to forfeited estates,
and to let them during pleasure, to give preference to those
who lost their estates by the Statute of Repeal, and to insert
covenants as to wheat, oats, hemp, and flax, at a rent of one-
quarter value above subsidies and taxes. Thej'- are to inquire
as to concealed and embezzled goods and horses, giving a
reward of one-quarter to informers. Inquiry is to be made
as to the estates of the Earls of Thomond and Kildare, and
likewise of minors and absentees, whose estates are to be
administered and the profits employed in public defence.

To relieve the store of copper and brass money in private
hands, and to prevent unnecessary coinage of it, 6 per cent,
interest will be paid for its loan, payable every six months.
No sum less than £100 will be received. Receipts will be
given, signed by the Secretary of the Treasury and the
Accomptant General. The principal and interest are charge¬
able on the crown rents and quit-rents of the kingdom, a
certain portion of which may be assigned as security under
Great Seal.

The prices of commodities being raised, the following
prices are fixed, which will be paid for quantities taken for
public use:—Wheat, 20s. best, 18s. ordinary, 15s. meslin,
12s. best bear, 11s. ordinary bear, 13s. best mault, 12s.
ordinary, 14s. good barley, 6s. good oats per barrel in
Dublin, Meath, Westmeath, Wicklow, and Kildare; and
15s. best wheat, 13s. ordinary, 11s. best bear, 10s. ordinary
bear, 12s. best mault, 11s. ordinary, 12s. good barley, 4s.
good oats, 12s. oatmeal in all other parts. Barrel to be
Bristol measure, price on delivery. Goods not sold may
be seized, leaving enough for subsistence and seed. All
who have any store of wool, leather, tallow, &c., to sell
it at—wool, 10s. stone ; leather, 7d. lb, sole leather, Gd.
uppers; tallow, 30s. cwt.; ox hides, 20s, cwt,, other hides,
13s. cwt.

of commodities has been raised. The following market
rates are fixed :—Best wheat 25s., ordinary 23s., meslin 18s,,
best beare 14s., ordinary beare 13s., barley 14s. in Dublin,
Meath, Westmeath, Wicklow, and Kildare, and 17s., 15s.
for wheat, 13s., 12s. beare, 13s. barley, and 14s. oatmeal
per barrel elsewhere, Bristol measure. Any one keeping
food back from market to be compelled to sell it.

New pence and halfpence of white mixed metal have been
coined to pass current. The pence being of the size of Is.,
with the King's head and Jacobus Secundus JDei Gratia on
one side, on the other a piece of Prince's metal fixed in
the middle, with a harp and crown, and 3Iag. Br. Fra.
4' Hib. Bex and the year of our Lord ; halfpence being
of the size of a sixpence. This money is to pass current in
all payments. Those who refuse it will be punished. It
will be exchanged for good money after.

and customs are remitted (tobacco and silks excepted) during
pleasure and for six months after any new decision.
