the exportation of any wheat, barley, rye, beare, oats, peas,
pulse, maslin, meal, or malt is forbidden to Michaelmas
next [Sept. 29] on pain of seizure.

Houses of less value than 8s. are exempt from hearth-
money on obtaining a certificate. A list of those empowered
to grant certificates to poor widows is added. The duties
are to be paid to the authorized collectors. Ten days' notice
to be given at the house before distraint is made.

OP IRELAND. A Declaration Concerning the
Pay, and Clothing of the Army.

As the forces are in a disordered state owing to the want
of subsistence, the matter has been considered, with the
debts for old clothes, and the deductions for new clothes,
swords, and belts. A private centinel in the Guards at
Dublin, whose pay is Sd. a day, is to be allowed 2s. Gd.
per week subsistence money, and a private centinel else¬
where (pay 6^?.) to be allowed Is. ll^d. from the last of
March to the last of December next, weekly. Sergeants 6s.,
corporals 4s. After December, when their debts are fully
paid, every private in the Guards shall have 3s. 6d., and
in the other regiments 2s. 4d. Sergeants 7s. and corporals
4s. Sd., free of all deductions. The army to be clothed
every 18 months, to receive a coat and breeches lined, to be
returned free after 10 months, a hat, 4 pairs of shoes,
3 pairs of stockings, 3 shirts, 3 cravats, and a sash, all
good of their kind. All officers to send in an account of
every man's pay, clothing, subsistence, and deductions from
31 March 1686 to 1 April 1687. No hardships to be put
upon the privates. No man to be discharged till he is paid.
Men to keep their clothes and linen neat and clean. This
to be read and hung up in every garrison.

On petition of the merchants trading with Spain that the
great duty on imported iron should be dispensed with, it is
ordered that iron be rated at .£20 per ton and pay 20s.
customs and 20s. excise. No rebate will be paid on export,
nor abatement of 5 per cent, on importation.

It has been published at Kildare, the head quarters, that
during the Curragh Camp an open and free market without
tolls, &c., might be held there. The market people and
victuallers are to be paid for everything purchased fairly
and quietly. Officers to enforce order. This to be pro¬
claimed to the soldiers.
