for Halfpence.]

Ormonde.
By patent of 18 May 1680, Sir Thomas Armestrong and
Col. George Legg are to make copjjer halfpence for Ireland
for 21 years, having on one side the King's head, on the
other a crowned harp with Carolus Secundus Dei gratia,
Magnae Britanniae, Franciae, et Hiberniae Rex. Each is to
weigh 110 grains troy. No one else to issue any tokens
for pence, halfpence, or farthings. Powers of search. The
patentees will buy back 21s. woi-th of copper pieces for 20s.
Not current for more than 5s. in £100. All mayors, &c.,
to aid the patentees.

Many officers absent themselves from quarters without
leave. Any one absent from garrison for above ten days
and nights shall be put out of employment, and similarly
any one who overstays his leave ten days. Officers coming
to head quarters must leave two commissioned officers with
the troop or company. Subalterns asking leave must
produce a certificate that they can be spared. An appeal
lies to the Lord Lieutenant.

Cites proclamations ordering arms to be brought in.
Several papists having arms without licence have not
brought them in. All licensed papist holders of arms to
bring them in and deposit their licences. Keceipts are to
be given and the arms marked with the owners' names.
Names of those who are to receive arms. Sheriffs, justices
of peace, and army officers to search for arms, and to bind
over those in whose possession they are found to come up
for trial. All arms seized are to be sent up to Dublin
within 30 days. Protestants are not to keep arms for papist
neighbours. No one to have more than one pound of gun¬
powder in their possession.

that the weights used for these coins exceed the standard.
